“Well, then, this is easy. It’s just a matter of figuring out how to bring the two boys together, permanently. What will it be, boys?” Madam Illusia asked them.
"Yes!" Andy and Ryan both answered.
The old woman eyed the two teens. Just by looking at them, she knew they had a deep bond of brotherhood. Even though they had consented, she wanted to be sure that they were willing to go through with the magic she intended. "Are you sure boys? I only ask as this will be a permanent solution. Magic is only used in the most dire of circumstances to solve problems as nothing can ever be undone when magic is involved."
"Yes..." Ryan, the stocker teen, spoke up this time. "My family is moving, and they can't leave me behind. My parents can't afford for me to stay, and I don't have a job."
"And my parents are not willing for him to stay with us." Andy spoke, his tone bitter. "If you can do something, you are our last option..."
"Then my next question is... how much are you willing to give up?" She asked.
"Give up?" Andy asked. "I don't have any money..."
Madam Illusia smiled thoughtfully, "Not money dears. Are you willing to sacrifice your... personal space. Are you willing to give up your own independence to become inseparable? Based on what you have explained to me, your parents..." she gazed at Andy, "...are not willing to have your friend stay in the same house. Why... You do not need to say, but I feel as if your two families have had a falling out of sorts."
"And your parents, Ryan" She continued, "Are lacking in funds, are they not? This new job in England was a blessing for your family as your parents seemed to have both lost employment. Under normal circumstances, you are unable to stay, and your parents cannot afford another ticket for Andy."
She paused for a moment and turned to look out at the audience. "It seems that the best way to solve this conundrum is to make one from two. That way, our friends, Ryan and Andy, could choose whether to stay or to go... together."
"What do you mean... 'make one from two'?" Andy asked, concerned.
"Would you not do anything to be with your friend forever... or have you misspoken?" She asked him.
"No, I would give anything for Ryan and I to never be separated." Andy answered with more condition then before.
"Make us one from two... whatever that means." Ryan added. They each wrapped an arm around the others' shoulders.
"Very well." Madam Illusia smiled. "You two will be inseparable, so as no magic nor medical marvel could ever make you part ways. Let your brother-like bond manifest physically." She clasped her hands tightly together, as if praying, and the two young men were basked in blinding light.
When the light faded, a collective gasp resonated through the audience. Center stage, the two young men stood as one. Nothing physically could ever come between them again. Ryan and Andy had essentially become a two-headed man.
