"Actually, I've got to be geting home," said Jack. "See you later, Danny."
"Sure," Daniel said. He contiued to search through his brother's room, not noticing when Dan, with a smile, patted the pocket of his cargo pants.
Just after Jack left the room, Daniel found one of his action figures, a stripped GI Joe. "Ha! Proof!" Daniel exclaimed. "Wait until I find David."
--------
The walk home didn't take Jack long. An only child of busy, career-minded parents, Jack lived a casually supervised life and liked it that way.
He went directly to his room, reached into his pocket and pulled out Bryan. He placed the tiny teen onto his bed.
"Who are you?" Jack asked.
Bryan, relieved to be out of the hot, dark pocket, stood on his feet. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" Bryan shouted. "Take me back to David."
"No," Jack said.
Bryan was floored. "Listen to me, kid..."
"Don't call me a kid, little guy," Jack warned.
"Just take me back to David, and there won't be any trouble."
"I'm hungry," Jack said, ignoring Bryan's comments.
Bryan was too slow to evade Jack's quick grab for him. Bryan's struggles hardly gave Jack any concern at all as the youth crossed the room and stood in front of an old, empty fish tank.
"There you go," he said, placing Bryan in the bottom of the cage, which was covered with pebbles. "I did have a lizard, but he got away from me."
"You can't leave me in here!" Bryan screamed.
But, not even listening to Bryan's protests, Jack turned and left the room.
