Laura drops the dice case down the front of her romper and heads over to the door to the main eating area. She has to wait until someone else opens it, and then she quickly darts through. She looks around for her things. Her heart sinks. They are nowhere to be seen.
Reluctantly, Laura decides to leave without her things. She can figure something out when she’s not within sight of a bunch of adults who might be concerned about an unattended toddler. A large family leaves the restaurant. Laura tags along with them, blending in with the crowd, then breaking away from them outside.
Laura toddles along for a few minutes, trying to think as she walks. But she can’t think of a single way to get herself out of this mess. She feels completely stuck. Eventually, she feels a warmth spreading through her diaper. Deciding that wetting herself is as good a reason to end her walk as any, Laura stops. She looks around, praying that she’ll spot some way to avoid spending the night on the streets in a wet diaper.
