Laura almost laughs at the irony of finding none of the clothes are big enough for her. Guess she's not that small for her age after all. Sighing she peers around the corner and sees the man has called a few other chaperones over. It looks like he's going to stay right by the door until they find her.
Laura's heart stops when she realizes that she has no choice. Getting actually younger instead of just dressing down was not her first, second, or last preference, but if she was going to avoid an all expenses paid trip to back kindergarten and catch that train there's no other choice. She pulls out one of the dice and tosses it to the ground.
"Six one years you have walked this Earth. Now this number is but two. Each roll of the dice returns more of what you have lost."
Laura finds her perspective drop yet again and the kindergarten uniform is rendered baggy on her minuscule frame. She pulls the cursed outfit off and shoves it in a random bag before looking for something that will now be her size.
She would have liked to have time to sort through for something not embarrassing, but fear of getting discovered forces her to settle for the first thing she finds; a diaper and a romper covered in rainbows. She finishes getting dressed just as a chaperone walks by. The woman smiles at Laura but moves on quickly.
Laura sighs in relief and climbs back into the tunnel network. Returning to her earlier vantage point, she watches the search for the kindergartener continues. While the adults look around outside a couple older kids are asked to check in the tunnels. As expected, none of these deputies pay any attention to Laura.
After all the actual class members are led off to the bus, the chaperones look over a checklist the man's face shows he is no doubt confused to find no one missing. Thankfully, they seemingly shrug it off and leave the restaurant and Laura breathes a sigh of relief. Now all she needs to do is steal back her belongings and get to the train station. She can only hope it's as easy as she tries to make it sound.
