But the moment was pushed away by a loud braying in her mind.
Michelle sank back into the dim-witted stupor she had been in since giving in to the animal within.
"Come ohawwwn, I'll hawlp you get your tail!" Jamie said. Michelle took her hand and allowed Jamie to lead her off into the island. The moment she took her hand she felt something in her rear. She felt the strangest sensation, as if her coccyx was slowly unfusing at the tip of her spine.
By now the screams and laughs of the kids in amusement park was inundated with braying. Most were panicking, but this didn't bother Michelle in the least.
The longer she listened to that wondrous sound, the more her mind clouded over with pleasure. This was what she wanted, a simple life, no worries. Michelle allowed herself to be led through the throngs of kids by Jamie.
They passed a mirror and Michelle caught a glimpse of herself. Although she could feel her ears swiveling to best catch the sound of other donkeys, she was still slightly clinging to what was left of her human mind. She pulled Jamie to a stop so she could stare at herself in the mirror and examine her long, brown-furred ears. Like the mirror she saw earlier, it flashed, and she was looking at a brown donkey.
She shifted as she felt something push against the back of her jeans. Suddenly, she was hit by a bout of braying. She didn't resist at all. The braying eventually knocked her to her hands and knees and she just let it go for a few minutes, each bray making her feel more animalistic.
Michelle could feel her mind slipping further away. Still intelligent enough to get from a to b and understand speech, but she was having a hard time thinking past the next few seconds.
She was interrupted by a loud bray from Jamie. She turned to see her face had changed during her examination. Her lips had turned dark and rubbery, and her lower face had protruded into a slight muzzle.
"Haw-Heeeeee-Haw!" Jamie brayed to Michelle. She pointed towards a group of kids in line to get to a keg that was dispensing more of those grass smoothies. All the kids there were greedy trying to get at the keg, and there were some donkeys milling about behind them.
Michelle's ears twitched and she felt the pressure against her jeans intensify. Jamie went on ahead of her, the clopping of her feet echoing off the stands.
Michelle ran after her. She didn't hear any kids talking here. The ones she saw were lost in the joys of braying. The deeper she got into the throng of willing donkeys, the further her mind slipped. Finally she caught up with Jamie at the keg, her back was to her pouring a drink.
When she turned around, she was greeted by the sight of a gray furred donkey head.
“What are you doing? Remember your family!” Came a frantic voice in her head. But Michelle couldn't even hear herself think over the braying.
The panicking kids were gone. The children she did see in this area were human only in body. Even then most of them were rapidly shedding their skin for fur.
“Michelle no!” The voice screamed in her head. But Michelle had ceased to see herself as a human. As if sensing her final acceptance, the braying in her head took over, and she let go of all human thought. Her body responded.
The donkey headed Jamie in front of her was on her hands and knees, happily grazing. The sight was too much for Michelle. The pressure against her jeans suddenly spiked and she felt something worm it's way down her pant leg until she felt something hairy against her ankle.
Looking down she saw what looked like a large black paintbrush. She felt the tassel of hair as it went into her pant leg. There was a long lump leading right up into the small of her back.
*Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip!*Her pants split around the lump, letting her tail hang free.
Michelle would have felt happy...if she felt human emotion anymore. With a final mental click, she disrobed and dropped to all fours.
Looking towards Jamie, she found a gray donkey where she had been. Finding a quiet tree away from the other donkeys, Michelle lay down and fell asleep.
