"11," Alicia smiled as the dice bounced to a stop. "Looks like I'll be going first. Suits me, nothing wrong with trying something new." She shares a quick glance and giggle with her boyfriend to her left, then picks up the dice again. "Here we go!"
As the dice hit the table, the first of the generic figures in the starting square begins to shift and melt. Before Alicia's hand can even reach it, it has reshaped itself into a perfect scale-model likeness of her!
"That's pretty fucking creepy," Alicia remarked, although she seemed too world-weary to be particularly concerned, even as the piece began to slide forward. When it came to rest, the empty rectangle on the board filled with a stack of cards made from cheap, age-frayed cardstock. The topmost one seemed to shimmer with a very faint light.
Nicole and Joanna jumped back at the board's unexpected activity, while Daniel put a comforting - if unnecessary - arm around Alicia. James just watched, curious and more than a bit concerned as something nagged at the back of his mind.
"Go ahead and read the card, hun. We might as well see what this game has to say..." Daniel prompted.
