A Game of Change

Calm Before the Storm

added by Arlyaq 18 years ago BM

"You're right," Nicole agreed with dread in her voice. "And only James and I still have to roll before its her turn. I hope something that we land on can help her ... maybe even some sort of curse that will change her behavior enough that she can roll the dice." Despite the talk of curses, Nicole forgot her own, and reached for the dice in front of her. It was as if they had grown suddenly heavy, however, and she could not budge them from their spot. "What the hell? Oh... wait..." She turned around in James's arms, looking into the eyes of her still-human boyfriend. "I'd forgotten about that."

James let a finger rest on her muzzle, and she grew quiet. He shifted beneath her, unfastening the clasp and zipper of his slacks and letting them slide down his legs. Finally, he settled down, kneeling, his legs beneath him. "Turn around, beautiful," he whispered as he let his arms relax their comforting embrace.

Nicole was taken aback for an instance. She had not expected to be called that, given her current form. But as she thought about it, she was beautiful. Her ears perked up and her tail swished in anticipation as she stood and turned, then knelt back down, straddling her lover. He craned forward, kissing her gently on the muzzle, then more passionately, as they quickly adapted to the new shape of their embrace. She was aroused; she couldn't have hidden it from him now if she had wanted to. Unnatural as their cause was, the sounds of passion from across the room combined with her desire to explore all this new form had to offer. And it seemed she was not alone in that regard. Wordlessly, she guided James's tip to her folds, and slid herself slowly onto its length. For what seemed like an eternity, they made love, locked in a long embrace, slowly rocking against each other in stark contrast to nearby events.

As they both neared orgasm, each pacing themselves against the breath and pulse and motions the other, Nicole's eyes flew open wide. Something inside her was larger and firmer than she was accustomed to. She pulled her head back enough to see her partner's expression. His eyes were open too, and although he continued to move within her, bringing them ever closer to release, she could see fear in his eyes as well. It was too late for second thoughts, however, as their eyes fluttered closed again as the shared passion became too much. Lips met muzzle again, and James moaned into her mouth as she felt a warm fullness within her from his seed before losing herself to her own climax. Her furred fingers caressed his cheek, and she whispered, "Thank you," before sliding back off her lover's sex.

But she couldn't. There was another warm fullness within her, the same thing she had felt just before their orgasms. Something round and firm and very, very large held her fast. "What ... what is that? What's inside me?" she begged, trying to edge the panic out of her voice.

"Me," James smiled, having realized what had happened to him. "That card I drew, it talked about canine loyalty." He kissed her playfully. "It gave me a knot, like a dog. We're tied."

She relaxed, happy that nothing like what happened to Joanna was at work. "How long does it last?"

James shrugged. "Sometimes half an hour for dogs? I'm not really sure. And that doesn't guarantee my knot will work the same way. We'll just have to make the best of it. Say ... its getting a little cooler in here. Know anyone warm and fuzzy to keep me warm?"

Nicole pressed happily against him, sharing in the strange afterglow. It felt strange, to still have him inside her so long after they were done, but in a way, she enjoyed it. It made her feel safe. Alicia cleared her throat loudly, interrupting Nicole's daydreaming. "Oh! My roll!" Nicole snapped back to reality and tossed the dice. onto the board beside her, drawing the card before her figurine had even stopped.

No change at all, for good or ill.
This card is not the norm.
Your caution shows your wisdom,
this is the calm before the storm!

She looked nervously at the board, and the grey square she'd landed on. Had she gotten lucky, or was she doomed to some sort of hideous change next turn. "If there is a next turn!" she gasped, unintentionally aloud. She pressed the dice into the hand of the man she still straddled. "I hope you can roll something to save her," she pleaded, even knowing it was now all beyond James's control.
