The pacifier is calling Oliver’s name. She reaches for it, but before she can grab it, she feels herself being lifted into the air.
“That’s it, I’m calling the cops,” says the employee that caught her earlier and stole the ring. Oliver squirms in the employee’s grip while the employee makes the phone call, but it unable to escape. “Yeah, I can take her there,” the employee says to whoever is on the other end of the call. Oliver freezes. Where is she being taken?
The employee ducks into a backroom, where another employee is having lunch.
“Hey, Steve, this little girl kept sneaking in here, so I called the cops,” the employee says. Steve swallows his mouthful of food.
“And?” he asks.
“They said to take her to the daycare next door. I guess they have some sort of arrangement where they look after abandoned kids.”
“All right. Go do that and then come right back,” Steve says. The employee holding Oliver nods and leaves. Oliver renews her struggles to break loose, dreading being dropped off at daycare, but she still can’t break free. By the time they arrive at the daycare next door, Oliver has completely exhausted herself.
“This little girl seems to be abandoned, so the cops told me to bring her here,” the employee says to the young woman working the front desk. The woman looks up. Oliver recognizes her immediately. It’s her younger sister, Carol. Though, right now, Oliver is the younger sister.
“No problem,” Carol chirps. “Do you know her name?”
“No.”
“Well, I’ll see if I can get her to tell me,” Carol says. Just then, Oliver feels pressure grow in her bowels. This is all the warning she gets before she instinctively begins to push, messing her diaper while the employee holds her.
“Ew, she’s pooping!” the employee shrieks, hurriedly setting Oliver on the floor. Oliver squats where she was set down, continuing to push a thick log into her diaper, her face turning red from effort.
“Toddlers and babies do that,” Carol scolds. “You can leave. I’ll change her when she’s done.” The employee runs out of the daycare. Carol comes around to where Oliver is squatting. Once Oliver finishes, she straightens with a sigh of relief. She can feel her diaper sagging. Apparently, it was for the best she couldn’t find training pants. Training pants aren’t designed for messing.
“All right, stinky girl, let’s get you less stinky!” Carol says cheerfully, picking Oliver up and bringing her over to a changing table. Oliver begins to panic at the thought of her younger sister changing her poopy diaper. She squirms and fusses loudly. “Now, now, none of that,” Carol scolds. She takes a pacifier out of her pocket and pops it into Oliver’s mouth. Oliver quiets immediately, sucking on the pacifier for comfort. “That’s better!”
Carol proceeds to change Oliver, removing her dirty diaper, wiping her down, and then putting a fresh diaper on. To Oliver’s surprise, Carol sees pee on Oliver’s dress and decides to remove it. Oliver is then dressed in a fresh, soft onesie.
“See? That wasn’t so bad, was it?” Carol coos at Oliver. She brings Oliver over to a corner of the play area where a few other toddlers are sitting with visible diaper bulges under their clothes. “Play nice, okay? Let me know if you need anything.” Carol walks away. Oliver sucks on her pacifier, thinking quickly.
Maybe she could convince Carol of who she is? Or maybe she should just try to escape.
