Oliver attention is brought away from the seesaw when he feels a strange sensation. He's unable to figure it out until Crystal wrinkles her nose and giggles.
"You need diapy change. Don't ya?"
Oliver is mortified as his adult sensibilities reassert themselves. Not only does he lack potty training, he even lacks awareness of when he's using his diaper. The turmoil in his head is matched by the gross feeling against his butt as the mess settles.
Seeing his distress, Crystal says, "Don't cry. My mommy can change you. Come on."
She unbuckles Oliver and Eric and leads them over to a woman reading on a nearby bench. She looks up and smiles at Oliver.
To Crystal she says, "Did Eric make a new friend?"
"Yeah this is Olly. He needs a diaper change though."
"Well do you know where his parents are?"
Crystal shakes her head.
"Alright then. Come here little puppy."
She picks up Oliver and lays him on a changing pad. She unclips the pacifier so she can remove his onesie. Oliver blushes as he's stripped naked and cleaned like a real baby. Part of him almost wishes he could turn back on his childish mindset at will to relieve the embarrassment.
"Oh no need to be a little grump," teases the woman as she tickles Oliver. He instantly bursts into laughter as his much more sensitive skin is over stimulated.
After a fresh diaper is secured around his waist, the woman considers something for a moment before checking Eric's diaper and then removing his outfit as well.
"Crystal you can take them over to play in the sandbox. We'll keep their clothes off so they don't get dirty. I'm going to see if I can find Olly's parents."
"Ok mommy. Come on Olly I can show you how to build a sandcastle!"
As Oliver is dragged off he is torn between his realization he's going to be in a tight spot when Crystal's mom can't find his parents and an excitement at the girl's promise. Crystal then sits the two down in the box and grabs a bucket.
"Stay put I'm going to go get water."
Oliver waits until she leaves and gets up to make his escape. He removes the pacifier from his mouth, hoping that it would help him focus, and sees that the ring has fallen off the cord. The urge to cry in despair instinctively prompts him to reinsert the pacifier. He tries to stay calm as he wonders when it fell off.
