Summertime camp grounds are always a great opportunity for kids and/or their parents to have a great summer to remember to create great memories. for kids normally a great outdoors collection of activities with the adults normally either being childs at heart looking at helping the true youth or maybe those understanding the importance of getting kids happy and healthy. for parents it was a chance to get some long personal time and normally not get complained back at or in certain cases an opportunity to draw their children away from remaining indoors on their phones, computers and video games... but of course there were parents going that were spending the summer as staff members to camps for one reason or another.
The merfolk camp however was something very unexpected and different as of a number of aspects; first is that as the name suggests it has a merfolk theme and has it's campaigning grounds upon maybe around a beautiful island just off the coast. second is that we aren't talking dressing up as merfolk here but that the campers are turned into them during their stays with options for day transformations or entire visit, same with the staff. third is that to go with the merfolk camping a huge amount of the activities are themed on water and undersea actions then normal camps.
prices are decent surprisingly enough and camping age limits are between 7 to 18, though the later teens are also a little chaotic as 16 and up are the volunteering ages for staff members with actual employment starting in the 20s.
also true to being 'merfolk' and not 'mermaid or merboy' camp gender is not a barrier in signing up or being signed up, heck the cabins were often housing a mixture of boys and girls or various ages though cabin supervisors were responsible for making sure inappropriate sexual actions of underage charges were either stopped or prevented (it wasn't uncommon for campers to date so long as it was merely hanging out without getting 'knocked up') less things got serious in legal terms (and as a number of young staff were possibly in the role as a community sentence you can guess why this would be bad for them).
the actual owner or owners of the camp were mysterious at that. rumour has it they are among the more common of the older staff members doing a personal permanent 'undercover boss' gig, some say they are natural merfolk eyeing up future forever converites from among the campers, others claim they could be a foreign party needing to claim local citizenship for tax reasons using the camp... among others but really only the owners and maybr their secret keepers among the staff would know.
