"There's a fair in town I figured that would be fun. Sound good?"
"Uh huh!"
On the way to the fair, Jenny realizes she's missed a key element in her backstory; she has no idea what little girl's enjoy these days. Hannah tries to make small talk by asking about shows she watches or toys she likes, but Jenny struggles to come up with any answers. Thankfully, Hannah just reads the uncertainty as shyness and doesn't press too hard. Knowing that eventually these kinds of conversations would be harder to skirt around, Jenny vows to do some research later.
Once they get to the fair everything becomes a lot easier. Hannah comes there every year and is happy to take on the role of guide. After purchasing wristbands, Jenny is expected to go on every ride at least twice, though some of the faster ones are a bit scary. Her favorite is the ferris wheel, when she's that high up it's like being big again for a little while.
A few hours in, Hannah and Jenny visit a face painting booth. Hannah opts for a simple heart pattern on her cheek, while Jenny is attracted to a full-face tiger pattern. After getting it finished, Hannah tells her to try roaring and then stumbles over in "fear" while Jenny's giggles return.
Towards the end of the day, Hannah tries her luck at the games. She strikes out at a few before winning at ring toss. A delighted Jenny is allowed to pick whatever prize she wants. She settles on a stuffed dragon and shows it off to half the adults they pass the rest of the night.
The last thing before leaving is a fire works show. Hannah suggested they head out earlier, but Jenny insisted in order to avoid arriving home before 10. Despite herself, Jenny falls asleep in the middle of the show.
After noticing her co-star's state, Hannah laughs and carries her back to the car and drives to her home. Once they arrive, Hannah brings her inside, being quiet to avoid waking the aunt Jenny had mentioned being in poor health. Jenny's room is pretty easy to find, so Hannah gently tucks Jenny into bed then makes an exit.
