Father's Day doesn't seem to gain as much attention as Mother's Day, at least not this year. With the pandemic still going on, people were feeling less inclined to celebrate. But that didn't mean fathers weren't being honored. And that certainly counted in Animalia.
==========
By coincidence, Father's Day happened to fall on the 21st this year. That meant Father's Day was also the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year and potentially one of the hottest. As such, the Animalia website decided to tease a little with this. Various fathers of Animalia were asked to pose for pin-up pictures while wearing swimsuits. Trunks were optional, but speedos were preferable. And a rather large amount of dads were willing to do these pictures. They ranged from fathers with relatively young children like Robert or Anton to fathers with grown children like Martin Brown and Thomas Wesley. Were these pictures sexy? That was a matter of opinion. Did their wives like them? Most certainly. Were their children embarrassed by them? Oh, there was no question.

The one Animalian father who was undeniably receiving the most attention was Ulysses Bowman. Technically, he wasn't quite an Animalian father since his son, Nate, was still human, for now anyways. But Ulysses was an Animalian now and he was starting his new life in a very auspicious way. Some may question his decision to marry one of his old milk cows, but Blueberry had become so much more than that after her uplifting. Even before that, she was his unknowing consultant, Ulysses having complained a lot about his ex-wife leaving him while he was milking the cows. And after she marries him, Blueberry was going to be a far better wife than Ulysses's first wife ever was. Starting with bearing him a son so that her stepson would be free to pursue his own romance without having to be bound to the dairy farm.
For such a small family, there was a pretty big turnout for the wedding. Of course, there were Blueberry's fellow uplifted dairy cows who were her bridesmaids. Shuixing had managed to fly all the way from Heiya Island to attend the wedding as well as help Nate look after the farm while his dad and stepmom will be on their honeymoon at Miene Atoll. And of course, there was Meryl and her mate, Olly. The only noticeable absence in their extended family was Nelly. It wasn't that she didn't care about her brother's new family. But there was someone who's moved to Lyre who's expressed an interest in becoming a mule stallion and she wasn't about to let this opportunity pass her by. But at least Nelly was considerate enough to webchat her congratulations to the newlyweds. And if this 'Reggie' could make Nelly happy, then she had their blessing. (And he had their pity.)
