"Aw, how can I refuse such a heartfelt plea?" A giggling voice rang out. Then, a tiny feminine head poked through one of the holes at the top of the door, illuminating the interior with the pink glow emanating from it. A fairy! "Oh, were you crying, dear? So adorable!"
Isaac straightened up, wiping her cheek and staring at the dampness she found there. "You, you're the one who changed me into this. Change me back this instant!"
The fairy laughed. "Don't you have bigger problems right now? What good will your ugly male body do in here?"
"With my old strength, perhaps I can escape on my own," Isaac said hopefully.
"Hm, watching you try would be very funny."
"What? You think I couldn't do it?" The paladin demanded. Despite her show of bravado, she felt unsure. If the rock could resist her magic, would a few more pounds of muscle really make a difference?
As if reading her thoughts, the fairy prodded. "Could you? Would you stake your life on finding out?"
Isaac's hands curled into fists. "I don't have time for your games, fairy. Are you here to help or not? Or would my death bring you that much amusement?"
"Maybe." The fairy smiled, tilting her head to one side. "Or maybe I find it more amusing to offer you a choice."
"Which is?" Isaac tried to hide her feeling of dread. While Seelies were not often malicious with their pranks, one was better off not being completely at their mercy. Trapped in this crypt, Isaac was about as at their mercy as one could get. At least, the Seelies never killed anyone, not that she had ever heard anyway.
"I could change you back to your old form, or I could get you out of there in my own way. It's one or the other. Which do you choose?"
