[Possession] allowed Alec to experience what it is to have competent skills that can kill slimes in this world. Other than that, it allowed him to have the body of a growing child, even for a little bit. When he’s Leone, it seemed that a huge weight of his body was lifted off. His limbs felt lighter than air yet stronger and sturdier. His shortsword felt like an extension of his arm and power. [Possession] allowed him to do all those things. Upgrading it is for the best. Although, Alec didn’t know his [Possession] skill can be improved further. No matter, he’ll never know what the improvements will be if he didn’t choose it. Alec clicked on the panel and it changed to a salutations screen congratulating him for the choice. Then it changed to a screen detailing the improvements in the skill. Alec was careful enough not to show the screen to Leone or he’ll get a notion of what he did to his body earlier.

It’s a good thing Leone isn’t smart then. If he was, the skill might have failed and unforeseen repercussions might have happened. After seeing the improvements, Alec remembered to check his target’s Intelligence first. His thought of possessing whoever he wants is now out of the question.

On their way back to the guild, Leone tried to bug Alec what kind of petty skills he improved. When Leone realized that Alec isn’t budging to his advances, he groaned and trudged the rest of the journey in annoyance. Alec knew that responding to his antics would only fuel his mouth. So, it’s best to keep his mouth shut as well.
The transaction on the guild didn’t take long. Leone gave the bag of magic stones and the lobby girl came back with a bag of silver coins. Thirty for Alec since he’s the one who killed the Slimes and twenty for Leone who served as bait. He didn’t like it since he’s the one who has the most damage - he said he needs the extra money to buy clothes or his parents would kill him. It’s fun seeing the kid beg at Alec’s feet. But Alec had his day with him and didn’t budge to his proposed 25 silver share. Leone spat at his fit and stomped out of the guild in a fit.
“Goodbye,” Alec waved.
“Piss off!” Leone said as he pounded the door behind him.

Before leaving the guild, Alec asked Chizu, the green-haired lobby girl about the interesting locales around Alabaster. She had a holographic map of the city where she pointed places Alec might like.
The first thing she pointed to is the inns. She assumed that Alec is new to town and he doesn’t have a place to stay yet. She pointed at the Golden Bull right across the street. It’s easy to find because of the eponymous statue on its roof. The Inn owner caters to adventurers and gives discounts to Alabaster mages.
Then she pointed at the town plaza where the commerce of the city is. It’s located East of the guild on an intersection of two large trade routes. Goods from all four cardinal directions can be found there. If Alec wants to buy more advanced weaponry to replace his knife, the plaza is the way to go.
However, tomorrow would be the spring festival of the city. The royal Alabaster family is going to visit the town and host a celebration and tourney for the coming spring. There’s going to be pies, flowers, and competition for adventurers throughout the continent - and there’s a prize of 100 dragon gold coins to the first place. There’s surely going to be a bet for the competition and Alec could make a quick earning through bets, or survive the 3rd round of the competition and win a consolation prize.
Then lastly, there’s the Church of the Sun Goddess Helias. It’s the patron deity of Alabaster and Chizu noticed Alec’s lack of faithful aura. Everyone in the guild has their own patron deity since they get baptized at church, all except for Alec. He could get baptized and receive a small fire protection buff from the church priests.
But there’s another choice that Chizu doesn’t know and it all points to Leone. You see, giving that boy a run for his money still doesn’t feel enough of a punishment. Alec wants to inflict more punishment on the brat. And given his new improved [Possession] Skill, it would be easy.
