The Magic Shop

Less siblings, more fun

Before Dylan could continue, he heard his door swing open, scaring him half to death as it hit his wall with a slam.
"Dylan, did you take my school project camera?!" Alex screamed at her younger brother.

She knew he was guilty, as her twin sister told her all she needed to know.
"Kylie told me everything, you are so busted." She growled.

Dylan froze in place. "Shoot!" He thought panicking. "I should'a figured it wasn't Kylie's. SHe's such a little liar, bet she took this from Alex and then blamed me." He theorized in anger, not even aware that his lying sister was once his father.

Dylan, in panic, turned around with a crooked smile, holding the camera tightly. HE was about to say something along the lines of "no, this isn't what you think" but before he could his nervous grip on the camera pressed down on the device, causing a photo to be taken of Alex, changing her in a FLASH.

"No, bad dog!" Dylan found himself saying. "Please Alex, be a good boy and shush!" He quietly yelled.

The golden retriever puppy didn't understand what his master was saying, so continued to bark happily. Eventually, Dylan quickly got up to shut the door and pulled out a treat for Alex to chew on. The dog happily grabbed it with his mouth and began to naw on it like the teething puppy he was.

"Few boy, please calm down." He said. "I love photography, but Mom doesn't trust me with a real camera yet. If Mom or Kylie here you barking they'll come and take this away from me." He explained to his dog. He didn't know why he was, as it was just a dog... right? But, something about his dog Alex was strange... something in the back of his mind was trying to tell him something, but he decided to ignore the thought.

"Listen bud, you can stay here, but be quiet." He said.

The dog finished the treat and looked up with blank eyes, panting away with a wagging tail.

"Okay thank you Alex." Dylan sighed. "Come here boy." He said, lifting the puppy up to the window. "See boy, I've only been taking pictures randomly until now, but now I've got a goal." He explained, pointing to all the photos which came from the camera and fell to the ground. "I'm gonna get a shot of everyone in the neighbor hood, and then make a big poster for the block. That way, Mom will totally understand that this is my passion!" He laughed.

"Bark!" Alex responded, licking Dylan's hand.

"Ha, thanks buddy." He said. "Even if they're in groups, I'm gonna try to go one person at a time... so, where to begin?" He wondered, looking out the window once more.
