Mike’s heart pounds as he approaches the house. These are the hottest women on campus, and they have intimidated him for as long as he’s been there. Now, he takes a look around and don't see anyone walking about; it sure looks like the girls on Sorority Row are more serious about their sleep schedules than their male counterparts. He mentally congratulates himself on staying up late enough on his adventure that he can act at will.
But even if the coast is clear now, it won't be for long, so Mike takes out the gun and shrinks the house down to a more manageable size. The lights go out immediately, and Mike realizes that the house is no longer attached to the electrical system. He makes a mental note to fix the electricity and plumbing once he sets up the sorority house in its new shrunken form.
Mike approaches the house and discovers it's still a little too big, coming up to his knees, so he shrinks it again until it's about a foot across. He briefly wonders whether any of the girls inside have woken up and figured out what’s going on, but he can’t think of anything else to do about it, so his mind turns to getting the house back to his dorm room. Hehad originally debated putting it in his backpack, but he has no idea how sturdy the building will be at that size, so he wants to be careful with it. Besides, at this size it's easy enough for him to lift out the sorority house, foundation and all, and carry it in his left hand. It's a short walk back to his dorm room, and no one sees him in the late-night darkness.
He walks up the back stairs to the dorm in hopes of missing any late-night stragglers, but instead he runs into his friend Katy. Katy is a brunette and very sweet, which is probably why this sorority rejected her back in freshman year. Katy knows that many of the girls in Alpha Chi mock her behind her back, and she suspects one of them caused her boyfriend to break up with her. So Mike knows Katy has a lot of bitterness towards this particular sorority and the girls who happen to be in his left hand right now.
"Whoa," she says. "That's an unbelievable dollhouse."
Mike likes Katy, a lot actually, but he also really doesn't see the value in complicating things. His plan was to play around with his own private sorority, at least for now. Maybe later he could give her one of the girls as a toy, but for now, he could just say he ordered it online as a present for a younger relative. Actually, that's sort of a fun idea: he could give the gun to a little girl and let her play with these real-life dolls. He could even mind-control the little girl to keep it a secret from her parents.
