Kaylie pulled out some arts and crafts supplies, she found paints, sewing tools, glue, papers, etc.
“Sure let’s make a piece of art.”
Kaylie brought everything over to a little table in the basement. “I’m going to draw a picture of you first, sit right there” Kaylie pointed at a spot on the floor, Noah did as he was told. Kaylie drew her picture but after she was done, she looked through the supplies.
“Aren’t you bored, we should do something we can both do.”
“It’s okay I can be your model, I don’t mind” Noah found it very easy to watch her if all he had to do was sit and watch.
“No that isn’t fair there must be something we can both do!” Kaylie clearly wanted to play WITH Noah not just draw pictures of him. Noah was getting worried, he wanted to make up with his Dad for lying to him and didn’t want to make Kaylie upset.
“Oh I have an idea!” Kaylie finally found something.
“Sure! Whatever it is let’s play!” Noah agreed quickly.
Kaylie pulled out a little paintbrush and some paints. “Here let’s make your face match the rest of the Teddy Bear. Noah was surprised and did not expect that, he figured he would just wash it off later and agreed.
“Okay, can I pull your head out of the outfit?”
“Sure Kaylie.”
Kaylie went to the back of the costume and unzipped it about halfway, she then flipped the head down in front of him. She was trying to leave as much as possible still covering him. Noah for the first time felt the cold air, it was crazy how chilly it was.
“Oh I have a better idea” Kaylie popped Noah’s head off and brought it to the table to work on.
Kaylie pulled out the paints and started mixing colors. “Don’t worry I’m really good at facepaints.”
She started painting Noah’s whole head, not just the parts exposed with the costume, she clearly was having a great time.
“Close your eyes, I don’t want to get paint in your eyes.” Noah did as he was told and she took some more time to paint over his eyes. “There, I think it’s done.” Kaylie held up a mirror for Noah to look.
Noah’s whole face, ears and nose were all painted. With his brown hair it all looked like a perfect match. He closed one eye and saw that she had painted teddy bear eyes on his eyelids. “Wow Kaylie, you did a great job, this looks terrific”. Kaylie was clearly beaming, having a blast. Noah thought he made a decent babysitter.
