Summer 2020 in Animalia was different than the last few years not only because of the Pandemic, but also because of Animalia's Comic Book Convention, or Animalia ComicCon as some people started calling it. There was plenty of fun to be had, and it was successful enough to make it a biannual event, even with the "signs of the times" around. But there were plenty of surprises going around that weren't entirely comic book related.

Theresa and Jessie were still meeting with Abraham and Elijah when a Horizon agent came over to their table.
"Sorry to interrupt," he said, "But I've got some information from Project White Lily for you."
"Alright... what is it?" asked Jessie, not really expecting anything.
"Three of Anton's new class members happen to have chosen horse as their new species." said the agent. At that Theresa, who had been drinking orange Hi-C, completed an, alright, spit-take in surprise and began coughing. Abraham immediately went over to her and began slapping her on the back to help her recover faster.
After waiting for Theresa to get her coughing under control, the Horizon Agent continued. "While they are joining to deal with their health problems, they are homosexual."
"So they won't be interested in us?" asked Jessie, dreading the answer slightly.
"No, it means that they'll be going through Animalia's Homosexual Anonymous classes, and I'm sure that Vera, Blythe, and Coye would be happy to help them out."
"We'll have to see what they think about this." said Abraham.

Polly was leaving the Kats' Klub with Marcy and Chilly sniffling slightly because she had been eliminated from the family friendly cosplay contest.
"Don't worry too much, Polly." reassured Marcy, "You just had a hard time standing out among the other competitors."
"But why?" asked Polly, still sniffling.
"Your little performance is becoming a little too familiar to everyone." said Chilly, "Your competitors were going with more unique and unusual."
"But don't worry, you still have time to work on it." said Marcy.
"Thanks." said Polly, still sniffling but now smiling.

Dean and Nzynga were roaming around looking at the comic book displays when they met another Horizon Agent.
"We thought you'd like to know about your newest member." said the agent.
"A new elephant?" asked Nzynga.
"Yes, and he's a member of Project White Lily." said the Agent, "He'll be easy to recognize, because of the tribal tattoos on his shoulder. He's also a bit of a narcissist, spending at least 15 minutes of his workout staring into a mirror."
"We'll accept him," said Nzynga, "But he's not going to replace Dean so easily."

Animalia Comic Con was shaping up pretty well, even with the pandemic going on. Even during times of trouble, life must go on.
