Kaylie yawned, “We should play something… fun.”
“Hey Kaylie if you are tired, you can take a nap if you want.”
“Yeah, I think that would be a good idea. Can I sleep in your room again?”
“Sure that works, we should figure out something for later though.”
Kaylie, grabbed Noah’s paw and led him upstairs, she took him to the bed. “Thanks, can my teddy bear have a nap with me?” Kaylie looked at Noah.
“Well Kaylie, I’m not that tired can’t you sleep on your own?”
Tears started forming in Kaylie’s eyes, she obviously wanted to sleep with Noah.
“Okay, Okay don’t cry, I can have a nap too.” Noah really wanted today to go well.
Kaylie smiled and climbed into Noah’s bed. “Thanks my Teddy Bear Babysitter”
Noah clambered into the bed and layed down, he always forgot how comfy the costume was at times. Kaylie laid her head on Noah and pulled the covers up over them. She fell asleep really quickly. Noah not having anything else to do fell asleep as well.
Noah woke up first and looked at his alarm clock, thought to himself “This dumb costume did it again, I just slept the whole afternoon away.” He looked around and saw Kaylie looking at him.
“Let’s play some more”
“Sure Kaylie”
Noah rolled out of bed and he and Kaylie played a couple more bored games the rest of the afternoon. Although Noah needed Kaylie to move all the pieces, she didn’t mind.
After another couple of hours Noah and Kaylie went into the kitchen and saw all the adults at the table.
“Oh hello you two” Jason saw them first. “Noah can I get a word with you?”
“Sure, Dad”
Noah and his Dad went to another room. “So it looks like the storm will be letting up during the night. So school will be open tomorrow.”
“That’s great! The power should also come back then?”
“Yes, it will be back on during the night”
Noah was smiling now, this nightmare would be over soon.
“The thing is though, all the stores are closed for the day. So you don’t have anything to wear to school, except, well…”
“Oh… I hadn’t thought about that.”
“Yeah, I just wanted you to be prepared.” His Father now looked worried about his son’s current predicament.
“You know what, it’s fine. I’ll just get to school, switch and it will be Ruben’s problem” Noah’s father just laughed at that.
“I guess you have it all figured out then.”
For dinner Jason made everyone some chilli on his camp stove. Noah switched back into a hoodie to eat, having someone feed him was too embarrassing.
“Oh Noah, I see you and Kaylie did some face painting” Noah had forgotten about the facepaint, he was getting embarrassed again, they must think he loves being a teddy bear.
“Yes Mommy, we found some paints downstairs. I wanted to complete his look” Kaylie was proud of her work.
He was freezing, but managed to go to the washroom before rushing back to the suit.
“There, that's better, I should wear some socks when I’m out of that thing.”
Noah’s Dad zipped the suit back up for him.
Noah’s Dad looked at the group, we should figure out some sleeping arrangements.
