Noah waddled alongside Carlos and Trevor to class.
“Hey Carlos what was your family emergency.” Trevor asked Carlos.
“Oh that wasn’t too bad, one of my distant uncles passed away and left all the kids his fortune!”
“Oh man that’s crazy! I was worried someone close to you was hurt.”
“Everything is cool, we just went to his estate to go over all the paperwork with all the other kids.”
Noah was glad to hear that the emergency wasn’t bad. But now that he had to go into the class he was terrified. It was easy to walk the halls since while people were laughing no one knew who was in the bear suit. He sighed and opened the door.
His teacher took a look at him and smiled. “Finally one of you remembered what today is, who is in that fabulous teddy bear costume?” Noah was caught off guard, he was expecting to be made fun off or laughed at, not praised.
“It’s me N-noah.” He heard some giggles from the class.
“Well Noah, I see you have excellent school spirit, even going so far as swapping bodies to make your outfit work. I am really liking the commitment to our class project.” This is when he realised what she was talking about, Noah had forgotten all about it. His class was going to be going to the primary school today to read and teach to them. His teacher must have thought this was some elaborate scheme to get the best marks since the group who the kids like the most gets the best grade. Noah figured it would be much less embarrassing to pretend that this was his idea all along rather than the truth.
“Yes, I can’t wait to be the best bear” He stood tall and did a pose with his arms. Some of his classmates smiled and others like Trevor were killing themselves laughing. Clearly everyone thought this was some elaborate joke.
Trevor, Carlos and Noah sat in their seats and joined Josh.
Josh leaned over and whispered. “You really didn’t switch back with Ruben for the silly class project?”
Noah whispered back. “No it’s more complicated than that but just go with it.” Trevor, Josh, Carlos and Noah were all in the same group.
Okay everyone let’s head over to the school next door. Everyone started packing their things and Noah slowly waddled with Josh, Carlos and Trevor.
Once everyone was in the courtyard of the school their teacher announces “Okay you will now get your teaching or reading assignment for the day, remember the group who is most favourable will get the best grade and win an award.”
Noah’s teacher hands the group their assignment, they got.
