James didn't need to spend long in the pond to decide it wasn't going to be acceptable accomodation for the night. Jumping out of the cold, muddy water onto the long grass he gazed longingly at the cozy looking inn the humans got to sleep in that evening. It seemed a long way off at his current size but he was determined to make it there.
After a few minutes of frantic hopping James made it to his destination just as the sun was setting and, to his relief, spotted a window on the ground floor that had been left open just enough for him to jump through. He leaped athletically onto a conveniently placed nearby crate then onto the window ledge and, after quickly checking the coast was clear, onto the soft, slightly worn carpet of the Inn.
While his new surroundings were both warm and inviting everything was intimidatingly huge and he was suddenly aware just how weak and vulnerable he was. It was like leaping into a land of giants. Carefully James began to look for a safe and secluded place to rest for the night but, before he could get very far, an unwelome presence made itself known from above.
"And so, James soon realised he was not alone" the narrarors voice boomed theatrically "as he was soon found by .."
