Jim enters the room with increasing horror. The feeble illumination of his flashlight plays off the white of bones throughout the large chamber. Overcoming his fears (and still clinging to his hopes of treasure) he steps closer to one of the skeletons on the floor. It is the remains of a human adult. On closer inspection some of the remaining bones seem to be pitted and damaged as if partially dissolved by a strong acid. A strange glossy black substance coats the remaining bones in places. Unnerved by the dark, Jim makes a fire out of the scraps of good wood left from the door. Heartened by the improved lighting, Jim bravely walks around the room, taking stock of the tall ceilinged chamber. He finds a multitude of other bodies in the same condition as the first. Also scattered around are broken stone and wood weapons. Towards the back of the room is a large puddle of the black liquid, next to the only undamaged skeleton. The corpse is different from the others, showing no signs of the mysterious pitting and damage of the others. Most frighteningly the hands still clutch the handle of a stone dagger which is lodged in its ribcage. While getting a better look at the suicide, Jim accidentally steps in the black puddle.
