Dine In Dispute

added 3 years ago O

Colin straightened up his clip-on tie and sprayed into his mouth as he opened the door to a scowling, surly brunette just like Sam described.
“You must be Sierra, come on in.” Colin smiles.
“Whatever.” She huffed as she slipped in.
The ladies all had on the nicest outfits they owned, Marinette taking charge as hostess pouring wine.

“Ah, hello darling. Please, sit here.” Marinette smiled as she pulled out a chair.
Sierra huffed “About time someone here showed me some respect.”
“Because you’re sooooo respectful...” Lana quietly said with an eye roll.
“So Marinette, what’s on the menu?” Colin said after clearing his throat.
“Nothing too fatty, I hope.” Sierra said snidely.
“Relax, I have heard much about your... sensitive pallet.” Marinette smiled, presenting her work. “Vegetarian Alfredo ala Marinette.”
It looked like the same old chicken Alfredo the French girl usually made... except it smelled like a dumpster.
“Geez, what happened to it?!” Lucy gagged.
“It vwas prepared with soy milk, cauliflower pasta, and.... meatless... chicken....” Marinette explained, straining at that last part.
“Sounds... interesting!” Colin smiled.

Everyone tried not to puke as they ate the vegan-fied pasta.
“Why would anyone eat like this?” Lucy winced.
“It’s healthier and more eco friendly.” Sierra smiles pretentiously, “It all comes down to the seasonings.”
“There isn’t a seasoning in the world that could make this trash edible.” Lana sighed.
“If you tried it, you’d enjoy it.” Sierra frowned, “You might even drop the sour attitude.”
“Ever think that it’s because you try butting into my personal business?” Lana asked.
“Excuse me?!” Sierra huffed.,
‘Oh crap, here we go.’ Colin thought as the table got silent.

“If I recall, Dad just wants what’s best for us.” Sierra said.
“If I recall, he’s not the man my mom slept with when she got pregnant with me.” Lana spat back. “He’s not my dad, he’s yours.”
Sierra stood out of her seat “Don’t play that card with me, he’s always treated us equally!”
“Yeah right.” Lana said.
“Why else would he be sending both of us to the biggest university in this entire state?” Sierra asked.
“That’s what I’m talking to him about.” Lana said.
“What do you mean?” Sierra asked.
“It’s between me and him.” Lana replied.
“I’ll call him right now.” Sierra said.
“Go right ahead!” Lana yelled, “He’s getting a piece of my mind!”
“Fine then!” Sierra yelled as the other women walked away from the table and headed for the other room.
