The only way Oliver is getting out of here is if he has an escort. Oliver looks around the playground for a group of toddlers that he can sneak out with. He spots what appears to be a daycare group, heading out. Quickly, Oliver toddles over to the group, managing to blend in. Once out of the playground, Oliver lets out a sigh of relief.
The sigh becomes a soft yelp when one of the daycare employees sticks a finger down the back of Oliver’s diaper.
“Dry. What a big boy,” the employee coos. “Come on, buddy, time to go back!”
“But-” Oliver starts. The employee smiles.
“I know, you want to stay to play. But it’s naptime.” Any further protests are ignored by the daycare employee, who ushers Oliver and the other toddlers over to a nearby parking lot, where a van is waiting. A second daycare employee looks over the sea of children thoughtfully.
“Is that everyone?” the second employee asks. The first employee nods. “I’m going to count real quick, just to make sure.” Oliver’s heart soars. Once they count, they’ll figure out that they picked up an extra child, and that Oliver isn’t part of the group.
Oliver holds his breath as the employee counts the toddlers.
