"Um, I appreciate the offer, but..." Derrick shook his head. "I don't want my first sex to be with another guy, even if he's part goat. Or maybe especially if he's part goat."
The faun bleated a laugh. "No problem. Just offering." He raised an eyebrow. "So, what about the rest? You like being a wild ginger? I can change you back if you want."
Derrick frowned at the ugly but well-endowed boy in the mirror. It was so different! Even his own family would never guess who he was.. which brought a smile that revealed his dirty buck teeth. "Looking like this, um, it won't prevent me from being able to try other things, will it?"
"Absolutely not!" The faun grinned. "Actually, you can go anywhere in the Resort looking like that and nobody will really think much of it. You could just as easily be a staff member or a guest, though most guests don't look quite so natural."
That got Derrick's curiosity aroused. "Are there parts of the Resort guests don't usually get to see? Places I could go visit and nobody would be the wiser?"
"It depends on your attitude." The faun cocked his head. "Go in like a needy, spoiled guest and nobody will be fooled." That made Derrick flush - he didn't like the description. Before he could object, the faun continued "But, if you go in open-minded, maybe help out here and there as you explore, you'll be welcome wherever you go."
"Help out? You mean, like work?" Derrick wrinkled his nose. That didn't sound like a great way to start a vacation. Still, he was more curious about his new body than repulsed by the idea of some labor - he felt strong and limber and full of energy.
Glancing around, as if he didn't want them to be overheard, the faun leaned close and said quietly "Guests aren't supposed to ever go behind the scenes. Not that anyone is forbidden, but there hasn't been a need. I can't remember any guest choosing to explore the worker area. That's where a lot of the big magic takes place."
"Bigger than what you've already done to me?" Derrick was amazed.
"This is just looks." The faun chuckled. "I can change you back in a second, if that's what you want. Cosmetics only."
"No!" Derrick was surprised by the forcefulness of his refusal, but decided he really wanted to stay like this for a little while. "Um, so how do I find my way back to the worker area?"
Looking around, the faun spotted the centaur heading out of the reception area. "Follow that half-horse. You'll know when you are out of the guest portion, and you can explore all you want."
Derrick grinned and started to follow, then stopped and gave the main Spa area a worried look. "My family went on a tour of some kind. Is there a way to let them know where I am?"
"No need to worry about that." The faun went back to his bar. "Explore as long as you want - if they ask, we'll make sure they know you are safe and sound."
The centaur was disappearing around a corner, and Derrick made up his mind. He jogged after the massive half-horse, passing through guests and staff without any regard to his nudity or filthy appearance. The faun grinned and touched a pendant hanging on the bar. "The kid is heading for servant quarters. Make sure he isn't disturbed."
The voice of the main receptionist came through, amused. "Another one? If he goes full worker that'll be nine this year! If I didn't know better I would swear you were twisting their minds. But we both know that comes later." She sighed. "I'll take care of the family. How sure are you of this one?"
The faun thought a moment after he looked at Derrick vanishing around the corner. "Maybe 80 percent? Why? You planning a substitution already?"
"Grug has been begging me to let him try human for a while. And the way the kid was ogling minotaurs before, having him get a little bullish while they were on the tour would fit right in."
"Go ahead with the switch." The faun grinned to himself. "At worst Grug will have a day or two as a human, but I'm betting he leaves here and takes over the kid's life for good."
