Olivia walked through the door to "Rick's" office and waited next to the door. Once Rick walked through with the camera, she quietly shut the door. After placing Emily down on the floor she grimaced in apparent pain while holding on to her lower back.
"Ugh, I am in NO hurry to be this old anytime soon." She sighed. "Emily, were you always that heavy as a baby?" She teased.
Emily simply sat on the floor. Annoyed for a variety of reasons, least of which were her mother's comment.
"Oh relax honey I'm just teasing." Olivia said as she straightened her pasture. "Rick, be a dear and hand me the camera." She commanded.
Rick silently passed it to her, unwilling to exactly speak out in fear of Olivia's current mood and grumpier body. Olivia held the camera with a grin. She turned it towards Emily and hit the camera's button.
FLASH
Emily rubbed her eyes, and once she was done she could immediately tell she was better off than before. For starters, she was standing again! Although she had to still look up at her mother. Hair fell into her face, and she smiled, realizing that she was likely a girl again. She glanced back down to spot that she was wearing a cute skirt and some kid's show t-shirt, and was probably around 6 to 7 years old.
"Oh thank God I can speak again!" She sighed with a chuckle. "And I'm glad to not have anything between my legs anymore."
"Oh Em, you look absolutely precious." Her mother cooed. "Though, you look a lot like how you did at that age, your hair seems to be different." She noted.
Emily grabbed some of her long hair and pulled it back into view. It was much curlier, and had a red hue to it. She turned to Rick who could only chuckle.
"Yeah, that's my genetics I guess... since, you're technically my kid and all." He tried to joke it off, but was still clearly uncomfortable.
Emily picked up on his mood immediately. She may technically be his daughter at the moment, but she was still his boyfriend. "Wow, that sounds so weird." She thought with a blush. Still, she knew why he was feeling that way. She herself didn't know exactly how to feel about what her mother did to her father. She was pissed, sure, but did he deserve that?
"Well, despite the few little errors, I'd say things are looking quite promising." Olivia smiled as she sat down on the desk chair. "At the very least we're all the same gender again, which means we're even closer to returning to normal."
"We're not all back to the right gender." Emily said bluntly, attempting to sound serious despite her high pitched kid voice.
"Right... well, we'll fix your father later. We should focus on ourselves for now." She said equally cold back.
"That's not fair!" Emily retorted.
"Emily, you know we can't trust him with the camera! He made a serious error which could've c-" She began before Emily interrupted.
"No, he made a mistake! Not an error in judgment or some evil thing, a mistake! He doesn't deserve to forget he ever existed!" She snapped back.
"Don't talk back to me like that young lady!" Olivia yelled, finally standing up to hopefully use her height difference as an advantage.
"Hate to break it to you Mom, but I'm not actually a little girl! Or were you gonna make me forget that too?" She asked with extreme judgment.
"Hey, why don't we all just calm down ok?" Rick finally jumped in, separating both of them.
Emily and Olivia shut their mouths, but both still locked eyes in disapproval.
"Listen, we're all extremely stressed right now." Rick calmly tried to diffuse the tension. "We've all had our bodies and minds changed and twisted and thrown around like it was nothing, so we're on edge. Neither of you are the enemy here. Neither is Mr. Smith. The enemy is that damned thing." He pointed at the camera dramatically.
"I suppose you're right." Olivia reluctantly agreed.
"Sure." Emily agreed despite her guts telling her otherwise.
"Good. Now, how about we all just take a breather, and discuss what to do next, shall we?" He asked.
Before either of them could respond, there was a sudden knock at the door.
"Mom? Rick? Emily? Is everything ok in there?" Paula asked from the other side of the locked door. "I heard a lot of screaming from downstairs! Is everything alright? Is someone hurt?" She questioned.
The three of them looked at each other, all wondering what the hell they were gonna do.
Eventually, someone made a move...
