Jen reached down and picked up the sock; normally she would get a new pair but she was in a hurry and was already almost late for school as it was so in the absence of a better alternative she put on her day old socks.
Grabbing her bag and running out the door she got in her car and sped off to school.
Once she got through the doors she scratched her leg and arm and began subtly stretching as she made her way to class…late. After a few moments the limbs felt slightly better if a little restless.
The door was shut but looking in she saw the teacher looking at the board writing something.
Amber; one of her best friends and fellow cheerleader glanced at the door and saw Jen peeking in. she got up and quietly pushed the door open to not disrupt the class.
The teacher, Mr. Watson looked over his shoulder and said “Welcome in Ms. Smith, earlier than usual I see, I won’t make you go to the office to get a tardy slip this time but please try to get here a little bit earlier, you were almost on time.”
“Sorry Mr. Watson, I had a weird phone call that prevented me from leaving on time. But I will try harder next time.”
“I’m sure.” He smile and turned around as Jen took her seat.
In her defense she really tried to sit still and pay attention, but she couldn’t seem to find a comfortable position to sit in her body was just getting to restless. She was scratching something almost constantly.
As Jen shifted in her seat again Mr. Watson quickly turned around a stern look on his face “Ms. Smith, I don’t know what’s wrong but you need to stop moving or go out-“ bzzzz, the bell rang cutting him off mid sentence “-into the hall. Alright class, read the next 2 chapters and be ready to discuss them Wednesday and Ms. Smith, find some way to calm down or don’t bother walking through that door Wednesday, if you are disruptive I will not hesitate kick you out in the hall before you even unpack your bag.”
“Yes sir.” Jen said bashfully scratching her arm before heading out into the hall.
