"What's wrong? Cat got your tongue?" Sammy said. He laughed... "I just got that....cat...tongue....that's hilarious.."
"Let me take care of that, Peter," Sadie said, taking the spatula and turning over his burgers. "You sit down...you look a little pale."
He sunk to the floor, still gaping at the two of them, his jaw hanging open as he tried to make sense of the situation. As he did, his tongue flopped out of his mouth.
"Smells real good, honey," Sammy said to Sadie, leaning over to kiss her.
He blinked, and focused, still shocked. "What's happening?" He asked, a bit garbled due to his tongue feeling a bit unwieldy. The tail he hadn't yet noticed was now visible over his pants.
"Well, dinner is almost ready," Sadie commented, smiling at him with straight teeth. "Are you hungry?"
Peter sat up, his legs somehow fitting in line with his hands, which were resting on the ground. "Yeah!"
"There's plenty of food right next to you if you aren't patient enough to wait," Sammy said. "I mean, depends on how hungry you are."
The muscles around Peter's jaw began to grow stronger, as some of his teeth grew longer and more pointed. His nose began to twitch as it inhaled the various smells in the room.
