"There's plenty of food right next to you if you aren't patient enough to wait," Sammy said. "I mean, depends on how hungry you are."
The muscles around Peter's jaw began to grow stronger, as some of his teeth grew longer and more pointed. His nose began to twitch as it inhaled the various smells in the room. He smelled the dog food, and it certainly didn't smell as good as the burgers, but he was hungry right now and the idea of holding out for the better food didn't cross his mind. He got down on all fours and dug into the bowl of dog food, and as he did, his spine began to shift to the point he'd never stand up again.
His hands, flat on the floor in front of him, his instincts telling him to dig in with his mouth and tongue, shifted into paws.
"Look whose a hungry boy..." Sammy said.
"And making quite a mess," Sadie fretted. "Honestly, Peter...you should learn to control yourself. You wouldn't tolerate that sort of mess from us."
Of course, powerful instincts were growing within Peter that had overwritten the self-control that Sadie was expecting.
