“What’s that supposed mean?” Melissa read it again to make sure she wasn't wrong. But her hopes were dashed, it clearly read “Rubber Corps”. “Is this some kind of elaborate prank?” Before Melissa could ruminate more on the entire situation she found herself in, she heard an announcement over the PA system that called all the new recruits to the main hall. Wanting to get to the bottom of this as quickly as possible she immediately made her way there. She quickly overflew the remaining papers to find a map of the base, which seemed even bigger than she expected.
Once Melissa reached the main hall she lined up alongside all the other soldiers in front of a makeshift stage. A woman, who Melissa assumed had a high rank in this base, walked up to the microphone. Strangely, none of the spotlights on the stage turned on and the indoor lighting was set up as if they intentionally wanted the soldiers to only see a dark silhouette of her. She introduced herself as Colonel Puppe. The speech started like most you hear in the army, but luckily for Melissa she got to the point quickly. “I bet most of you were asking themselves questions like, ‘Where are we?’, ‘Why all this secrecy?’, ‘What’s going on here?’ And many more. Some of you probably have seen it already when looking into their papers, but allow me to explain. After a long and arduous selection process you have been chosen to be part of a secret project, which is conducted in a joined effort by the world governments and the Prometheus Company. I welcome all of you to the ‘Rubber Corps’!”
The woman paused, probably already expecting the murmuring and snickering coming from the various soldiers. Melissa herself didn't show any reaction and saw quite a few women that did the same.
The colonel sighed. “I told them the name’s stupid,” she muttered. Then she spoke into the microphone, “This project is the result of decades of research in an effort to improve the human body. After many years a breakthrough was found, they managed to create a synthetic latex polymer, which can bond with a person in many different ways to improve their various capabilities. I’ll spare you most of the technical details and instead will give you a demonstration of what I’m talking about.”
Suddenly the lights on the stage turned on and once her eyes adjusted to it, Melissa finally got a good look at the woman. She seemed to be wearing some kind of black bodysuit. A very skin tight one. No holes or creases could be seen. Even the facial features aligned perfectly and oddly enough the woman's brown hair was the only part not covered by shiny latex. There were even separate toes. Melissa started blushing when she realized that her nipples could be seen through the suit and that also seemed to apply to her vagina. On closer inspections there were a staggering amount of details on the suit and it perfectly shifted alongside every movement…
Melissa gasped and several soldiers around her started doing the same.
“It seems that some of you have already realized it, so let me clear it up for everyone. I am not wearing some kind of elaborate bodysuit. In fact I am currently standing here completely naked. This is the most basic application of the latex, where it bonds directly to your skin to increase its durability, Codename ‘Doll’. There are many other perks, but too many to list them all right now. Over the years various ways were discovered to combine the latex with the human body to adapt to many different situations.”
At that cue another woman walked on stage. Her most outstanding feature were her massive breasts and hips, which also defied gravity by staying firm all the way. She walked in a very exaggerated way that looked more like she was bouncing forward with each step. It made it look like she had trouble staying on the ground. Her naked skin was also entirely rubber, this time in a light blue. Melissa was surprised to note that her body was partly see-through and she seemed to be entirely hollow on the inside.
“Lieutenant Himmel here is presenting one of our projects specialized for aerial missions, Codename ‘Balloon’.” The lieutenant made an exaggerated show of taking a deep breath, before she started steadily floating upwards. “As you can see advancements with the latex have gone so far that it can replace several once necessary body parts and functions. Lieutenant Himmel’s body is nearly entirely hollow and filled with a special gas whose density she can manipulate through sheer thought, allowing her full aerial movement.” The lieutenant made some loops in the air to confirm that.
“For some still unexplained reason the latex has problems bonding with males, which is the reason why you only see women here. By finishing the final evaluation here you all automatically agreed to participate in this secret project and, if necessary, have your bodies converted. The tests you went through also served to decide your assignments, which are listed in your papers. Once this presentation finishes, you’re expected to immediately show up there for further introductions and instructions.”
