The Dancepet Project

Author note:
Hard to believe, but this is already my 100th chapter on this site. Never thought I'd come so far, not to mention in less than a year. And with it I bring you something I couldn't believe hadn't already found its way on this site.

Codename Dancepet… Dancepet… Dancepet! What was that supposed to mean? Melissa was aware that codenames could mean many things, but with what she'd just seen this could very well be literal. Could these people still be called human? The sergeant filed the philosophical questions away for later, now she should focus on following instructions. It was highly doubtful they'd just let go after already seeing all of this… whatever. If this was what they did to volunteers, she didn't want to imagine what happened to traitors. Melissa Ramirez just had to pull through and hope that after it was all done she could still call at least herself human. She tried to push down the small part of her that was not only awfully curious how far they could go, but also might not mind becoming something inhuman.

On top of all the previous secrecy measures her papers didn't say much about the project itself. Just a very vague description and some technical jargon she didn't understand. Knowing her luck she had probably been assigned to the top secret highly experimental stuff. At least the directions were detailed.

She couldn't help but notice the group of soldiers thinning out more and more the further she went deeper into the complex until she was one of only about half a dozen following this particular path. Their destination revealed itself to be a high-tech laboratory, where they were already awaited by a woman in a lab coat. A latex lab coat, of course.

“Ah, so you're the ones they chose to help me. Well, you girls are lucky, because you're about to take part in something wonderful,” the doctor said as she took a crucial look at the few assembled soldiers. “But I’m getting way ahead of myself. First the introduction. I’m Professor Margaret Bastion and I’m the lead scientist of this very project, codename ‘Dancepet’.

“My idea was to combine some of the best attributes of several of our biggest projects. Unfortunately most of them are specifically tailored to fit one type of field, making them somewhat inflexible in a potential true emergency. I wanted to create something like a jack of all traits, who can work in many fields, even if not at peak efficiency. This led to the creation of the dancepet. But why should I waste your time talking, when I can just show you. I want to introduce you to my assistant and one of the first dancepets, Eva Ross.”

Melissa couldn't believe her eyes at what entered the room. On the first look it seemed like a blue anthropomorphic cat. But that of course wasn't really the truth. First and foremost, she was completely covered, if that was really the right word, in latex, to the point even her short brown hair looked like a solid mass of rubber just glued to her scalp with two cat ears poking out of it. Most of her body was in a dark blue, including her long cat tail, which she somehow seemed to have full control over, while her front torso was in a lighter shade, the perfectly visible nipples and vagina clueing everyone in on this being her actual skin now. Her face was human with some cat features, including whiskers for some reason, and her mouth was stuck in a permanent o-shape. The whole neck area was covered by a thick rubber collar in a light blue color with something that looked like a huge bell attached to its front.

But the most interesting part were her limbs. While her arms were “normally” covered in dark blue latex, the wrists were in a light blue band like the collar and starting from there her hands were inside what appeared to be paw-shaped balloons. They were translucent and thus allowed everyone to see the hands inside of them. The legs were in a similar state, though here the bands already started at the knees. Therefore her full lower legs were encased by giant, almost pillar-like, balloons, whose lower sides were formed like cartoony paws. Like the hand paws they were translucent and the legs were visible inside, hanging a few inches over the bottom, potentially doomed to never touch the ground again.

“This is our dancepet prototype, similar to our current model ‘cat’. It combines the durability of ‘stretch doll’, the animal enhancements of ‘anthro doll’ and some minor flotation capabilities of both ‘balloon’ and ‘pooltoy’, while the collar enables some of the functions of ‘drone’, not to mention it has its own unique advantages,” Dr. Bastion explained as Eva did some additional twirls to show off her whole modified body.

“It is a pleasure to meet all of you,” Eva finally got to introduce herself to the soldiers. Melissa noted that her lips weren't moving at all when talking. She wasn't even sure if her voice came from her mouth. “I hope we’ll all get to know each other while working here as colleagues, so to say. I’ll always be open for questions and to help you get accustomed with everything here, especially your new wonderful bodies.”

Melissa’s mind stopped at the last line and she was certain the same was true for her fellow soldiers. “Does that mean we’ll also become something like that?” one of the women finally asked the question that was on everyone’s mind.

“Well, of course,” the professor answered. “Colonel Puppe should’ve told you everything already and you were informed that you automatically accepted everything that will happen to you by coming here. This is still a fairly new project, so we need all the test persons we can get. Of course you won't become exactly like her. As I mentioned, our dear Eva is just a prototype. Since then we’ve refined the design into many different models, each with their own unique tweaks, like larger or smaller balloon areas, different types of tails and animal enhancements, not covering all body parts in latex et cetera et cetera. Each of you will get a different model and then we'll transition to testing. Let's see, our first lucky woman is… Sargent Ramirez.”

Melissa almost gasped out loud, though considering her luck she should’ve figured. Of course she’d be the first to be turned into a weird half-balloon-animal-half-fetish-toy being covered in some kind of sci-fi high-tech rubber. But it was too late for that now. Taking a deep breath she stepped forward and presented her papers to the professor. The sergeant wasn't entirely sure if the feeling she was suppressing was dread or excitement.

“Perfect, perfect, that's what I want to see. You should feel honored. Not only are you the first member of this group to become a dancepet. You’ll be the very first to become this particular type of dancepet, namely model…”
