Anything?
There was an immediate desire that rose in her heart. Something she'd have never considered before today, when she'd been some mere girl struggling through her life - but now the idea was inescapable, burning right at the heart of her greatest dreams. Had Darzala done something to her mind, to inspire greed for such things? Or had it always been there, waiting until she might be given the means to make it a reality?
Maybe the question didn't matter. All that mattered is that she made the wish without skipping a beat, her smile turning into a smirk. "In that case... forget a single island. I want the world."
The genie's eyes opened slightly, and she bit her lip, seeming in a mix of embarassment and arousal at how forward Mary was being with what she wanted. "Ah.... yes." She glanced down. "Perhaps, when I said anything, I... exaggerated."
A sigh left the newly-minted queen's lips. "Let me guess - there are rules to what you can wish for?"
"Oh no, that'd be terribly silly. Buuuuuttttttt..." She looked up, as if pondering how to explain the situation to her vessel. "I could snap my fingers, and you'd reign over all the Earth in an instant. But to do so, a great deal of the world order would need to be changed... and there are certain people... invested in preventing that." She winced. "Powerful people. Such individuals are the reason my kind are kept in lamps... or other, more alluring vessels."
As much as she appreciated the flirtatious remark, Mary found herself disappointed... yet not discouraged. It occurred to her as she stood up and wandered over to the balcony, admiring the sweeping fields of her dominion, that she would have accepted that response under any other circumstance. But now... now she could hardly imagine simply accepting such a thing and moving on. Oh, she might have wild riches here, incredible luxury... but the possibility of having far, far more enticed her far too much. The desire to have all the world at her beck and call was firmly within her heart, impossible to dislodge or ignore.
Thoughts began to swirl in her head. Ideas about how to resolve this difficulty. Old Mary would've been overwhelmed, but Queen Mary... she'd become a ruler merely in body and title. Her mind was alight, changed by the genie's magical intervention. She felt more confident... and more devious. More willing to take what she wanted by whatever means were available to her. No longer willing to simply shrug and give up - she would have her desires, or she would die trying to attain them.
Running over the details in her mind, a concept began to take shape. "Darzala... you said there are others of your kind, with power as great as yours, correct?"
Curious, the genie rose from their bed, stepping over to stand behind Mary. The queen found her muscles relaxing slightly at the feeling of her consort's arms slipping around her waist, that chin resting on her shoulder. "Scattered, and trapped in less enjoyable cages, but yes. Quite a few of my kind are out there."
"And I assume they'd prefer a human vessel, over some old and crummy lamp?"
Now she was curious. "Yes... yes I suppose they would."
A smile spread over Mary's face. "And if liberated in such a way... do you think they'd be willing to unite against those who would restrict them from exercising their power?"
It wasn't terribly difficult for Dazala to see where she was going with this. "...you want to raise an army of genies."
She turned to look Darzala in the eyes, the smirk unabated. "These other forces you spoke of... I can't imagine they'd stand a chance against all the power of your kind united and turned against them. And then..."
As she trailed off, the genie continued to stare into her eyes, before she suddenly pushed forward into a kiss. The passion that rippled through the embrace... it was far greater than any she'd ever felt. So much excitement, like thunderbolts were running up and down her spine. Mary could scarcely comprehend how long they remained that way, but she could see the intensity of desire that now raged within the genie's eyes when they pulled apart.
"Oh, my queen..." She sighed. "You've got such a devious little mind, haven't you?"
"Your doing, I assume... though I have no complaints."
She shook her head slightly. "Oh no, no no no. That's all you... the real you, that never would've emerged without me here." She reached up to tap Mary on the nose. "So then, my future empress... where do you want to start taking over the world?"
