There was two rows of doors to the boardroom to get through one to the outside office and the other set that opened into the boardroom itself with a small hallway in between Dannie and Mr Simpson entered this hallway and shut the door behind them. Just as Dannie was thinking they would continue to the boardroom Pete re-tightened his grip on her arm and marched her over to the closest wall gently pinning her against it. With an angry but quiet tone Pete warned “Dannie I don’t care who you are in our other life here you are nothing but a scantly-clad secretary and you will obey me as your boss understand!” The smile dropped and bowing her head with the floodgates in her eyes beginning to burst Dannie replied “ye-yes sir, I understand” “Also Dannie if you ever embarrass me like that again in front of the floor I promise you that you will be out of a job and I will make these changes permanent is that clear?” Hearing these words sent an icy chill up Dannie’s spine that gave her goosebumps. Dannie couldn’t take what she was hearing and stumbled over her words as she pleaded “no Mr Simpson you can’t please, I’m your friend, were the same people we’ve always been, just stop this right now and lets go back to our lives.” At this defiance Pete burst into a roar “IS THAT CLEAR!” Dannie immediately shut her mouth and dropped her head lower then anyone had ever seen her do before and under low sobs answered meekly “yes sir.” Just to make sure everyone knew their place Pete asked Danny in a more cheerful tone “who are you?” “I am Danielle Travers, secretary of Mr Simpson.” answered Dannie again meekly with her head still lowered “and what do you do Danny” “I do whatever Mr Simpson asks of me” “good girl Dannie and he patted her on her hair as her head raised and a new smile broke out on her face “I just have to play the character until tomorrow and stay as happy and helpful as possible for Mr. Simpson.” As he gently took her arm in tow towards the final set of doors Mr Simpson chuckled to himself “I am so glad we installed soundproofing in this room.”
