Janet put her right hand on her chest, and suspected something was wrong. She looked down and saw that the magic necklace was missing. It must’ve slipped from her neck while Katy was holding her. Frantic, she flew from her bedroom back to Katy’s room. Without the necklace she was stuck as a 3-inch tall superwoman. Even though the door was closed, she knew from her X-ray vision that her daughter had disobeyed her instructions.
Not bothering to knock, she lightly tapped the door with her fingers. Angry, Janet flew up to Katy’s face. “YOUNG LADY, I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU …” She noticed a familiar object on her daughter’s chest. It was the amulet. Somehow it returned to its original size and Katy found it. “Katy, where did you find that?”
“On the floor” Katy replied. “Can I keep it?”
“No” Janet answered forcefully. “It’s mine. Give it back.”
Katy stared at the amulet, unaware of its power. “No, I’m going to keep it” she said.
“YOU GIVE IT TO ME AT ONCE, YOUNG LADY” Janet almost shouted.
“Or what?” Katy asked. Janet saw the defiance in her daughter’s eyes and was growing afraid.
“OR YOU’LL BE GROUNDED FOR A MONTH!”
