"Mom, I'm dropping out of college and creating a small business." John stated to his mother while his sister was nearby doing some math.
His mother said "Then I'll have to ask you to leave my house. Your an adult and I'm not required to house an idiot."
John said "I'm not an idiot, I can literally do anything. I can get any information I want at any time like that moment in middle school where you bled your panties and switched them with Courtney Jegger's in the locker room." His mother had quite the poker face, but her eyes widened a little as she was quite sure that was a secret she and her once best friend she hadn't talked to in decades would take to their graves. John then materialized some stacks of money and said "Someone only needs to go to school if they need to learn something which I don't, and I can get all the things I need to make a small business. If I fail I can try again. If I keep failing and eventually give up I literally have omnipotence to either brute force making a small business work or literally do whatever with my life. There's all sorts of empty lots at the mall right now, and I can get everything set up. All I have to figure out is what am I selling and then I may as well have the business."
Kim had finished her work but with the tension in the air she kept quite as her mother said "We'll discuss this with your father... He knows numbers well and was always going on about starting a business anyways. Plus you're so much like him. Even with the ultimate cheat code you want to prove you can make the business work... Using omnipotence as a safety net... and I must say I don't approve of using omnipotence just as a safety net instead of making the world literally perfect."
John sighed and said "Something something about ethics and philosophy. Plus who knows maybe my business will use my omnipotence in a way?" Later at dinner John's father was home from a long day at work and he didn't look happy.
John's mom asked "Something wrong dear?"
He sighed and said "yeah, so many newbies and I have to stay overtime to... I swear the second I get just enough money to retire." John plopped a thick wad of hundred dollar bills on the table. "...John, how-"
John's mother said "He apparently gained omnipotence and is quitting school. He wants to make a small business, probably will try over and over when he fails thanks to being able to create wealth out of nothing, and I figure both of you idiots could have fun with that." John held a finger up as a small universe floated above it and then disappeared as he flexed his power.
John's father took off his tie and said "Let's do it. Heck we've got enough saved up that we can afford the rent and initial everything for maybe a month."
his wife yelled "Wait then... Sorry I just forgot we had an omnipotent child to take care of us in case something goes incredibly wrong. You just reminded me of some idiot going through his mid-life crisis by blowing through all the family savings."
John said "I mean he actually is."
"But he's got a safety net right?" John nodded thinking about what kind of business he wanted to run.
Kim asked "So since I don't have to worry ab-"
her mother scolded her saying "We're continuing your lessons. I don't want you getting lazy with an omnipotent brother. What if he isn't there for you when you need him?"
John said "I mean I could alway-" then shut up as his mother glared at him.
Still John thought about exactly what type of business he wanted to run.
