Seth is already there, talking to the receptionist. He’s already showered and dressed; it took Jacob longer than he thought to get find clothes. Jacob quickly toddles over. He pulls on Seth’s pant leg. Seth looks down.
“…Hi?” he says cautiously. Jacob glances at the receptionist, then points at the cluster of chairs near the door. Seth seems confused, but follows Jacob over to the chairs. “Did you want something, little girl?” he asks.
“Not a wittle girl,” Jacob says. “I Jacob.” Seth frowns. “Toddwer at pool? Me.” Jacob tugs on his dress. “Onwy find dwess to wear.”
“Wait, you’re claiming to be my friend Jacob?” Seth asks. Jacob nods. “Did Jacob put you up to this? Is this some sort of prank?” Jacob scowls, but luckily Seth talks himself out of this idea. “No, Jacob hates kids and talking to them. He wouldn’t put up with one long enough to get her to pull a prank.” Seth sits in silence for a few more moments, a thoughtful expression on his face.
Jacob gets progressively more antsy as he waits for Seth to say something. Eventually, Jacob caves and speaks first.
“Do you bewieve me?”
