The closer Abigail got to Rhonda, the more the latter’s mind went haywire. What would her friends think if they found out she kissed Abigail? Her best friend Sofia, who hated Abigail pretty much from the very beginning, her roommate Lichi, who swore to protect her from Abigail, and especially May, the girl she was crushing on and seemed to reciprocate at least some of her feelings. Rhonda puckered her lips. She was unsure if she consciously did it or her body did it on her own, but as the distance decreased, so did her inhibitions. What could be the harm in getting closer to Abigail? Maybe this could finally end their feud. She just had to give in…
“Nah, that's too easy.” Abigail stopped inches from Rhonda's face. “I could just steal your, probably, first kiss right here. It’d be worthwhile compensation for all the years of trouble you’ve given me, but where would be the fun at that? I’ll only be satisfied, if you give it to me willingly.” She pulled back a few inches and took a look at Rhonda's blushing face, especially her still puckered lips. “I doubt I’ll have to wait much longer. Of course there's the matter of Sofia’s roommate. Even a cyclops with pinkeye can see the looks you’re giving each other. I hate sharing, you know… but I do not mind being shared. We might be able to arrange something.” The latina was subjected to Abigail’s wicked laugh.
The dragon girl finally found enough strength to reply, “T-This will never happen! I j-just got weak for a moment.”
In one quick move Abigail pulled out her wand and held it close to Rhonda's face. “You might not be aware, which of us has more leverage right now. I also remember you always saying you hated being transformed, always complaining when I turned you into all those cute forms, and look at you now, already making headlines as the dragon girl. Even I was surprised to see you stay in this body after Miss Wandler’s lesson.”
She waggled with her wand a bit and with every line Rhonda's heart sank deeper. “You remembered the rules of the curse, right? One flick and the right words and I can make us inseparable for the rest of the year. What would you prefer? Being a two-headed dragon? Should I nestle between your breasts? Maybe just make a new body out of our best parts? Or should I try and be a bit more creative? Oh, I know what to do!”
Before Rhonda could react, Abigail spoke some magic words and touched the dragon girl’s head with her wand. She froze with wide eyes and her breathing rose to near hyperventilation. Being merged with Abigail is a literal nightmare come true for Rhonda. The idea of being forced to spend every waking and non-waking minute of her life at the side of the girl, who has tormented her for so long, deeply terrified the latina. But why was there a small voice in her head saying it might not be so bad?
Again Abigail broke out laughing. “You should see your face right now. Don't worry, that was no fusion-spell. Sadly I still have a few more private matters to settle before I can enter this kind of commitment.” She continued cackling as she took one of Rhonda's hair strands and held it in front of her face. The latina watched as her hair slowly changed its color to a fiery red. “I hope you don't mind, I thought it’ll fit quite well with your black scales. And I remember this being your favorite color.”
Rhonda slid down the wall and quite uncomfortably landed on her tail.
“Looks like you have some stuff to sort through. See you later, roommate!” Abigail said before casually walking away as if nothing happened and leaving Rhonda on the ground.
The dragon girl didn't know how long she sat there. Her mind constantly replayed the whole event. What happened, what didn't happen and how her friends would've reacted to that. How was she supposed to deal with all that? She tried her best to forget it, but that was quite difficult with a reminder hanging literally in front of her face. She might have to cut her hair short… or go completely bald. And how was she supposed to return to her dorm room? Maybe she could switch rooms with Sofia for tonight, but how would that make her look when asking that after only one day? And what about Lichi? She'd probably want to come too and then–
“Are you alright?” Rhonda looked up, and then a bit further, to see the tall form of Margo Keischo leaning over her. Even when probably being nice she could practically see the oppressive aura coming off the heiress.
“Oh, eh, sorry, I-I was just a bit lost in thoughts, is all, hehe.” The latina quickly (and awkwardly) sat up. She must've looked pathetic. The dragon girl, who proudly presented herself as one of the first transformed, just squatting and moping in the middle of the hallway. “Just forget what you just saw. I’ll be going now.”
“Actually, I’ve been looking for you, Rhonda Martinez.”
Rhonda stopped in her tracks, turned around and pointed at herself with a claw. “Me?”
“Yes, you. You’ve already made quite the impression on your first day here. In case you don’t know, my name is Margo Keischo,” she introduced herself with a small bow.
“I know who you are. We have Wards together,” Rhonda quickly interjected.
Margo acknowledged this with a nod. “Then we can go right down to business. I wanted to speak to you. But not here. Follow me, I know an empty classroom, where we can talk privately.”
Rhonda followed Margo, as she led the way. If she was being honest, the latina just wanted to go to her bed and sleep. So much had already happened on this first school day that it felt more like at least a full week. But the alternative of Abigail kept her following this possible distraction, even if the albino slightly terrified her.
“I recall you having a different hair color during PE, did you change it with magic?” Margo asked as they walked through the hall.
“Oh, uh, yes… I thought it would… fit better to my… scales,” Rhonda unconvincingly lied. Margo didn't look like she bought it (in fact her expression didn't change at all), but she didn't follow up on it and so they continued their walk in silence.
Soon they entered the empty classroom and after closing the door behind them, Margo immediately addressed the latina in front of her, “Rhonda Martinez, I brought you here for an important reason...”
