Finally, Kelly caved. She couldn’t hold it in any longer, and her friends wouldn’t take her to the bathroom. Kendra walked into the living room. Kelly seized the opportunity.
“I gotta potty!” she shouted, jumping to her feet. Kendra took her hand.
“You’re such a big girl! You’re lucky, I got Denise’s old potty out for you to use.” Kendra led Kelly into the bathroom, where, sure enough, a toddler training potty was set up next to the toilet. Kelly made a beeline for the potty. “Let me help you.” Kendra removed Kelly’s onesie and diaper. “All right, big girl! Go potty!”
Blushing, Kelly sat on the potty. It took a second to start going with someone watching, but eventually the distinctive sound of urine hitting the empty potty filled the bathroom. Thankfully, Kelly pooped earlier that day, so she didn’t also need to go number two in the potty. At least, not yet.
“No boom-boom?” Kendra asked. Kelly shook her head. “Okay. Well, let me know if you need to. Everyone will be a lot happier if we can avoid changing messy diapers.” Kelly nodded. She hopped off the potty. Promptly, Kendra swooped in to wipe Kelly clean and diaper and dress her again. Then, she set Kelly on the counter while she emptied the training potty.
Kelly wondered idly what Kendra’s next plans were for her.
