“No,” Kendra said firmly. “Clearly, you can’t be trusted to take care of her! She was under your care for a few hours and given caffeinated soda. I can’t imagine what would happen if you were to take care of her overnight.”
“But Mom-” Denise started.
“No buts. Do you want me to call Jen’s parents?” Kendra asked. Denise fell silent. “That’s what I thought. Now, you can go do whatever you want, I’m going to clean little Megan and put her in something better suited for her age.”
Denise and Jen could only mouth “sorry” at Kelly as she was carried away. The first stop Kendra made was to a closet, which contained plenty of supplies for a toddler. Kendra selected a diaper and a onesie patterned with cupcakes.
“Okay, sweetie, time to give you a bath!” Kendra said. She brought Kelly to a bathroom, set her on the floor, and began to fill up the tub. Kelly looked at the door, tempted to make a run for it. But if she did, then Kendra would call her parents, and everything would be ruined.
Kelly stayed silent as Kendra removed her clothes and put her into the tub. Kendra, however talked at her constantly, singing songs while she scrubbed Kelly’s face clean. After far too long for Kelly’s comfort, she was finally cleaned to Kendra’s satisfaction.
The humiliating experience of being bathed was promptly followed by the humiliating experience of being diapered and put into a toddler onesie. Kendra looked Kelly over and nodded approvingly.
“Much better. Come on, you can sit in the kitchen with me while I make dinner for the girls.” Kendra brought Kelly out of the bathroom. As they headed for the kitchen, they passed through the living room, where Jen and Denise were watching TV.
“TV!” Kelly said, pointing. Kendra frowned. “Pwease?”
“Hmm.” Kendra paused for a moment to think. Finally, she nodded. “Fine. You can watch TV. But only until dinner is ready. And then after dinner, it’s bedtime for you. Got it?” Kelly nodded reluctantly. “Good girl. Denise, Jen?”
“Yeah, Mom?” Denise asked.
“Megan can watch TV with you until dinner,” Kendra said, setting Kelly on the floor. Kelly toddled over to Denise and Jen.
“What about after dinner?” Jen asked.
“She goes to bed. Little girls like her can’t stay up too late.” Kendra shook a finger at Jen and Denise. “Don’t put anything scary on. Cartoons only.”
“Got it, Mom,” Denise said. Kendra left the living room. Denise and Jen turned to Kelly. “I’m sorry, I didn’t think that you would get stuck in a diaper and treated like a baby.” Kelly sighed and sat down, the diaper cushioning her butt.
“It’s my own fault for deciding to stay this size. But it’s just for tonight that I need to act like a toddler.”
“Yeah. That was a nice touch, by the way, when you walked like a toddler,” Jen said.
“That wasn’t on purpose. This stupid diaper spreads my legs so far apart, I can’t walk properly,” Kelly complained.
“At least you won’t have to use it,” Denise said hopefully. “I mean, I told my mom you were potty trained, after all.”
“Speaking of the potty…” Kelly said softly, crossing her legs. “I have to use it.”
“Oh.” Denise looked at the TV. “Well, can you wait until a commercial break?”
“Yeah,” Kelly said. “I’m not really a baby, remember?” Denise and Jen chuckled. The three girls watched TV, Kelly trying to ignore the building pressure in her abdomen.
