Dr Jenkins made his way to the Aviary as quickly and stealthily as he could.
The exhibit was in a heavily-wooded area, with walkways and viewing platforms rising high into the air. Hundreds of birds were housed within a series of large wire cages which separated them based on species. The attraction was always a big hit with the visitors… at least those that avoided joining the display themselves.
Thankfully, the Aviary wasn’t too heavily guarded. A security officer or a member of staff would occasionally hurry past, but it seemed that this was one of the last places they expected a fugitive to run to.
Now that he felt relatively safe, Jenkins approached what he presumed to be the storeroom. The building resembled a large shed that was covered with plants so as to make it blend-in with the rest of the exhibit. He approached as calmly as possible only to see that, as he feared, the building required an ID card to gain entry.
However he then noticed a van with its rear doors open parked nearby. He approached cautiously, checking that nobody was watching as he approached. As he got closer he soon recognised the labelling on some of the boxes that were stored inside: more transformation serums. Clearly the Aviary had developed its own varieties of the serum, just like the Farm Living exhibit.
Jenkins didn’t have much time to consider the implications of this before he heard what he presumed were the footsteps of the delivery driver returning to the van. Knowing he had little time to act, he quickly grabbed the nearest box and turned to flee the scene.
However…
