“Well... a girl just broke up with her girlfriend... and I was smiling at her to make sure she’s in a better mood.” Nat smiles.
“Hold up, are you blushing?” Finster asked.
“Uhhhh... well... that dark hair, that cute little smile, the way she ties that little bow... why am I talking like this?” Nat blushes.
The football team stares for a bit, and they follow her line of sight; the blonde football captain’s eyes widened in realization.
“Your crushing on Beth?! My sister?!” Finster shouted.
Beth Finster hides her face in her jacket as everyone stares at Nat in shock.
“I thought the weebs and golfers were the only ones into nerdy chicks...” rock band lead Terri said.
“So you aren’t completely shallow after all....” A goth said to a femjock.
“Does this mean Beth and I can get a double date at Buckley’s?” A geeky black girl said.
“Not the best time, Jeanette.” Another nerd said.
Nat just sat there pale faced.
“Lemme guess, your off to a new date at the renaissance fair, Nat the Nerd Bird?” Runningback Lisa chuckled as Beth started crying.
“Hey, back off!” Nat snapped, “She’s just a sweet girl having a hard time! I’d go out with her in a second over some airheaded, squeaky, girly girly cheerleader!”
Jenny slammed her tray down and stormed off as the cheerleaders gave her death glares.
‘Kill me now...’ Nat thought as she hid her face in her hands.
Jenny approached her later, except she was in a fancy blouse with a pencil skirt and her hair was in a bun.
“Oh why... hello there... may we engage in intelle- intellectu- brainy person stuff?” Jenny asked.
“What’s all this?” Nat asked.
“I just wanted to make our romantic evening a nice bit of mental stimulation and adjust our relationship traperry... trigonometry...” Jenny squinted, “tra-jec-tor-y.”
Nat turned to see Jeanette holding up prompt cards.
“Oh who am I kidding? You wanna be with the smart girl....” Jenny pouted. “I’m just a big dummy to you.”
“Wait, it’s not like that....” Nat started.
“Go ahead... I’ve got plenty of girls to pick from... girls like her don’t get amazing cuties too often....” Jenny frowned, “At least I tried.”
She could hear Jenny softly crying as she walked away.
“Nat?” Beth asked, “C-Could we go to the park tomorrow?”
“Wha? Oh, sure!” Nay awkwardly smiled.
Beth hugged her and pecked the tomboy on the cheek.
“You’re the sweetest girl I’ve ever met.” The mathlete sighed.
Finster glared and held up a sign:
“You made this personal going for my sister. Break her heart, I break your arms.”
