As their little sudden get-together went beyond well, Maggie was practically walking on air with joy, a big bright smile, that had Taylor a bit weak in the knees, on her face the entire time.
But now for a new task at hands: finding Michael a girlfriend.
Sure, he’s practically an adult, he could do it by himself, but the reputation and potential stigma (which got wished away pretty quickly by Taylor) could pose some issues with the dating thing. Not to mention, well, he deserves to be happy.
‘But where to even start? Do I just make a completely new person or take an existing one and change them to fit? Gah, this is getting a bit troublesome.’ Taylor pondered eyes scanning for ideas, ‘Maybe…certainly there had been people who had been interested in Michael…maybe I can peak there for ideas…’
So, that evening, after everyone went to their rooms and should be getting ready to sleep, Taylor set to work. First, she wished to know of all the people who once had (or maybe still have) a crush on Michael. Taylor found the list was decently long, so she started the elimination process: people in relationships, unfortunately to have died of varying causes (i.e., sickness), people who get a new crush every day, etc. Little by little, the list shrunk, until only 10 names remained. Some from middle school, some from high school, one neighbor kid who moved away and one from the college Michael dropped out from. Then Taylor started looking at to what sort of relationship Michael had with these people. One turned out to be the ‘bully the crush’, which left a bad taste in her mouth, so she drop kicked that person off the list. Another could be best described as rivals. And most were ‘friendly, if distant’, but the old neighbor kid, one James Stone, could have been a contender for best friend if the position had been open, being a source of sanity and his family showing what a healthy family looked like (which in part also explains how the three siblings ended up good people), before they moved away rather suddenly.
Looking deeper into this guy, Taylor finds him interesting – a nice, if rather loud guy, but friendly and helpful and liked all around. A ‘ride till we die’ type, if one had to put in words, perhaps not the sharpest bulb in the sky, but don’t judge a fish by its tree climbing abilities, as he seems to be rather adept at various wood and metal work – particularly small objects, like signs or carvings. Not even too terribly looking, if just judging by aesthetics, so, a good contender.
But now begs the question: should Taylor work on an existing person, make a new one or instead look for an ideal candidate?
