"Sorry Kim." I decide to lie to keep the powers for myself. "That won't work. The Ring can't be copied." I wish for the Ring to stay with me forever and never be duplicated.
Kim nods and begins to lose interest. "Oh alright. I guess I'll see you around then."
But I reach out and take her arm. "Wait! You don't have to go. We could, you know, make wishes together."
"No thats okay. You know, I think I'm going to be late to this thing I have to go to. "
She begins to walk away but I don't want her to. Why? She used to love me and now she doesn't even want to spend time with me. We used to do everything together. We were going to spend the rest of our lives together. It was all a misunderstanding. Why won't she talk to me? "I wish for you to stop."
Kim freezes in place midstride on the sidewalk. Before she can try to speak, I make another wish. "You and I were going to be perfect for each other. But then you thought I cheated on you, but I never could. I wish you were in love with me again. Madly in love."
I can feel the wish take hold and then I wish for her to be free to move. When I do, Kim turns around and launches herself into my arms. Startled, I hug her back as she happily kisses me all over my face. "I am madly in love with you, Harvey. I'll never you go."
"I wish you would do anything to make me happy."
Zing. "Of course, Harvey. I always make you happy." She goes back to kissing me.
"I wish we could get married like we always wanted to."
Zing. "We are, silly. The wedding is tomorrow."
"I never want to be alone again."
"You won't be."
Now reunited with my Kim, the two of us go back to my home were we quickly go back to our old rhythms. I have my girlfriend back again.
The next day, she is made my wife.
