Jarad couldn't figure out what to do, but he didn't want to be caught at home when his parents returned. They'd have him picked up by animal control before he could get them to understand that he was their son!
Carefully, he grabbed the medallion, the sock and the dog collar in his mouth and slipped out of the house. Jared slunk around the bushes for a while before he decided where to go. His freinds had used an old abandoned shack as a gathering spot for years out in the woods. There wouldnt' be anyone out there in the middle of the week, so he could have some time to sort this out.
He padded into the woods for a few minutes before coming up the the shack. It wasn't much, really just an old storage shed that someone had dumped into the middle of the woods before any of them were born. The floor and walls were covered in the debries of a dozen teenagers, hunters and vagrants from over the years. Even to his human nose the place always smelled bad, but now it was nearly foul.
Exhausted and scared, Jarad ignored it and plunked down onto the floor, trying to catch his breath. He tried again to scoop the medallion and sock into his mouth, but it didn't work. He began to wonder seriously if he'd be a dog the rest of his life.
The thought scared him, and he paced back and forth in the shed until the sun started to drop low in the sky. Jarad decided that he needed to sleep and think about this fresh in the morning.
