Maggie considered that and replied, “Tempting, but not now. So, we just hit somebody with this and they, what, fall in love with the first person they see?”
Taylor shook her head, “No, they’ll just find the most compalitable person – a best match, if you will. Love at first sight would be a disaster waiting to happen if that were the case.”
“That’s fair,” Maggie nodded at that, “So, will people see us like this?”
“Well, I can make us not a sight worth reacting to while we’re like this, unless you want to be unseen by people until we turn back.” Taylor offered.
Maggie considered the options, “Let’s go uninteresting unusual sight route. You can change it later anyway, right?”
“Sure!” Taylor ensures that is the fact now, “Any thoughts were to start?”
“Maybe…closer to home?” Maggie offered, “Darla had complained about not having a date when all of her friends got theirs.”
“Oooh, that is a good idea.”
With that in mind, the two female cupids flew unseen to Darla’s room, where the teen had been sitting on her phone and browsing the web, looking absolutely bored, now that all of her friends had someone to go out with. With a groan of dismay at the tons of pictures of happy couples, Darla rolled over on her stomach and started to look for something to take her mind off of things – such as the upcoming prom – giving the two cupids their chance.
“Should the two of us hit her?” Maggie looked at Taylor as the other got her bow and arrow ready.
“Nah, take the first shot. It’s yours.”
“If you’re fine with that.” Maggie took aim and – Darla tensed up when it felt like something sharp hit her in the back.
“What the fuck…” Darla shook her head and a strange but pinkish tint, barely visible to the human eye, came over her eyes. With a look of confusion, but determination, Darla got up, got dressed – a cute shoulder-less sweater, shorts and kitty tights instead of her home clothes - and proceeded to walk, quickly, down the street.
“Where is she going?” Maggie and Taylor followed suit after the girl, Taylor taking a shot at some single people on the way, the same pinkish tint appearing in their eyes.
“Going to where her true love is.”
