Amber looked up at the pregnant woman. She was about 8 months pregnant by now and if nothing else, it showed in her attitude. She sat there in the waiting room biting her thumb and bouncing her foot with the biggest scowl you could imagine. Amber looked back down at the app and selected the woman on it.
'The pregnant woman is biting her thumb and tapping her foot, angry that her husband is late'
She chuckled as quietly as she could, feeling rather sorry for the unlucky man. She'd seen many a mood swing from women over the years working in the Gynecologist reception and this woman looked ready to blow. She tapped next to biting, trying to come up with something funny to type. She couldn't really explain why she did it, but through some compulsion, she replaced 'biting' with 'sucking' and hit accept.
When she looked back up she nearly dropped her phone. The pregnant woman had indeed gone from biting her thumb to sucking it like a young child. She looked back down at the app to see it had generated a new sentence.
'People think the pregnant woman sucking her thumb is weird'
At first she debated if it was a fluke. The other patients in the waiting area were glancing at her with raised eyebrows. She'd heard of adults who didn't stop sucking their thumbs, although she'd never actually seen it. If it wasn't a fluke, she may as well try help the woman out of this situation. She replaced 'weird' with 'cute' and looked up again.
"Holy shit!" she whispered. Instead of raised eyebrows and all around judgmental looks, the woman was now getting smiles from the people. Although even Amber had to admit she looked adorable sucking her thumb and sulking like a child. Maybe she'd give the woman a sticker and a lollipop when she was done...
Amber shook her head and put the phone down. The reality of what just occurred started to sink in. She'd just made a grown woman suck her thumb and made everyone around her, including Amber herself, think she was cute for doing it. The woman stood up as she was called in by Doctor Long.
