"Gabriel! Awesome. I wanted to reach out to you when I heard about your parents, but I couldn't find you. How are you bearing up?"
That was a quick response, Gabriel thought. He never knew how to react to people he thought must be freaked out about his parents. Actually, he liked them a great deal more now and thought the change had been for the better. And frankly, with all the dirt that had come out about how they had ran their church's finances, they were probably better off being cats than in jail.
"I'm fine" he typed "How are you?"
"Things have been a lot better since I left home." she answered. "I'm living on a commune now--kind of a farm, kind of a religious thing. It's not a cult--we're not trying to recruit anyone. I'm going to be in town tomorrow if you want to get together."
"That would be awesome!"
