Making sure that nobody would need him right now, Gabriel took to looking up an old…sort of-girlfriend – Dana Rivers. They had been young, 15-years-old, when tried the dating thing after being friends for a few years. Mostly due to the fact she had been the only girl neither of his parents had any – noticeable – issues against them hanging out.
Now Gabriel wonders if it had to do with the fact that the elder Rivers were long time members and frequent donators to the church before they moved away…
Shaking his head to get rid of such thoughts, Gabriel set to find out what Dana is doing now – starting with the easiest option: social media.
And then found a number of Dana Rivers in existence, so he had to sift through the horde to find the right person, using memories of what she and her family looked like, imagining what she looks like now and plain old hope.
A part of him wondered if this might be a Janice situation, but decides to keep it on the backburner for now, unless he does come up with nothing…
Well, Gabriel ponders as he looks at a particular profile picture in the list, maybe the universe can line up to find what you’re looking for. But now was question time: is it the same Dana and does she even want to get in touch?
Drumming his fingers, Gabriel’s mouse hovers over the messenger icon, internally debating whether to talk to Dana like this or try to find a phone number or even should he contact her at all – if it even is the right Dana Rivers. A few more seconds of pondering, then Gabriel opens the messenger and writes out a quick message: Hi, Dana. If it’s you, then I hope you remember me, Gabriel Woods, we kind of dated in middle school? Wanted to reach out and see how you are. TTYL.
Then he sends it and leaves the room in search of food, while waiting to see if there will be a reaction…
