*~You're out back, sniffing along the fence when suddenly, a sound! Your ears perk up as you zero in on a fat squirrel chittering loudly from a low branch of the big tree at the back corner of the yard and you're racing across the grass before you can think. Jumping, you scrabble your front paws against the trunk in an attempt to reach the tempting creature, but even with your claws you can't get enough purchase to climb. Your tongue lolls out and you pant excitedly while watching the fluff-ball scold you from its perch. You can smell the squirrel through your long nose, and you let out a short 'BARK' of frustration.......~*
Blinking, you wake up slowly from your nap on the couch. What a dream! It's like you were really a dog, enjoying your backyard, sniffing the breeze and feeling the grass between your paws! You find that you've shifted to lying on your side, stretched out on the cushions with your limbs sticking out over the edge of the sofa. You feel your tail flop against the couch and you raise your head to look down the length of your body to see your new appendage wagging lazily behind you. It still feels surreal that you actually have a tail! But acting like a dog these past few days has felt so *right* that you're sure this must just be a natural part of the changes everyone says you go through as you grow up.
You notice you tail now seems to be covered in a light brown fuzz, with some longer hairs on the underside - this must be the body hair that grows with puberty! You haven't been wearing anything other than the collar, so you hadn't really thought to check your underarms or groin like you used to when using the bathroom and undressing. Gazing over your body you can see that patches of brown fuzz have actually sprung up all over! It's darker on your hips and thighs and lighter as it nears your ankles and wrists. Lifting one leg, you can see light, almost white fuzz around your crotch! There's even white fuzz between your fingers, making them seem stubbier than they used to look.
You tuck your face between your forearms and rub at it with the sides of your hands, feeling more fuzz on your cheeks and a bit of wetness as you get to the tip of your nose. Your snout is sensitive, but that's probably because you've been so focused on sniffing everything lately. You use the nub of your thumb to scratch the side of your face, loving the way it feels rubbing through your growing facial hair and up around your ear. Propping yourself up on your elbows, you shake your head and give a light sneeze, gazing out at the living room as you contemplate what to do next with your day.
