They could see and feel the eyes – some were just looking, enjoying the sight, others were envious if not outright jealous – boring in the back of their heads. Maggie knows the chances of anyone actually harming her were beyond low, but the way some of those stares felt had her feel a little unsafe at times might be a tad worrying.
Before the teacher could come in for the next class, Amanda the preppy peppy cheerleader walked up to Maggie, “I like you, we should go out sometime.”
Considering Amanda was anything but quiet, the entire class heard and turned to look at her, varying degrees of WTF on everyone’s face. Maggie slowly looked at Taylor, who just looked done with this girl, before looking back to the expecting Amanda, “Sorry, I’m taken.”
“Like that’s ever stopped anyone before,” Amanda threw her hair back with a flourish, “We could have far more fun then you by yourself.”
“Sorry, relationship is strictly monogamous at the moment.” Maggie deadpanned.
Now Amanda just looked annoyed, “Look, just because your mommy and daddy got away with taking money like pigs, doesn’t-”
“Shut,” Maggie’s jaw tightened, “Look, this has nothing to do with my parents. I love Taylor and I want to be with her. You literarily have nothing to offer to make yourself better in comparison.”
Amanda sneered, “Dunno what you see in Taylor, she’s basic.”
“To you, maybe. But don’t speak about my girlfriend like that, girly! A centillion of you wouldn’t even be worth a nail clipping of Taylor.”
Amanda threw her hands up and stomping away, “Fine, but you’ll see that we would make a way better couple, Woods!”
The two girls then looked at each other, Taylor, making a privacy bubble, starting, “Well, just so you know, she is planning on starting shenanigans to break us up and get together with you that look like a mix of comedy and romcom situations.”
“That is…childish…”
“Yeah, somehow she thinks she’s in the right and will come out victorious in the end.”
Maggie snorted, “Like that would ever happen. I know our story is…the weirdest, but in no way in hell would I ever want to get with anyone else if we were to break up for a good reason. I meant what I said: there is nothing anyone could offer to even compare.”
“I know…but if this is but a taste of what comes…”
Maggie groaned and headdesked at that, just as the teacher came in to start the lesson.
